In this haunting tale, the ghosts of a foreign conflict invade the home of the chaotic Jimenez family, while a woman remembers the moment in her life when she disappeared for good. "I wrote the first scene of this play 17 years ago when I first got to New York and there was a group of Latino actors working on adapting a novela about a woman who was being tortured in a jail in Argentina," Lozano reveals. Putting on her thinking cap, the creative playwright combined that story with childhood memories of her own Argentinean father discussing the dirty war in which 20,000 people disappeared. "I thought, 'What if I intersect the story of this girl in prison with my own story of growing up in New England and put the girl in prison literally underneath my childhood bed?' And that's what I ended up doing."

At Long Last
While the tale is both historical and complex, Lozano says there is also much about it that soap fans will enjoy. "There's a lot of beautiful music, romance, scary stuff, and hopefully a lot of humor and joy," she previews. "It's really about a family, and it's a story we all can relate to, because, you know, we all have family members!"
After two years of preparing to stage this production, Lozano is excited for the premiere and eager to share her work with the public. "It's really hard to describe what it's like to see something that I've been thinking about for a long time and that is so much about my childhood come to life," Lozano offers. "It's amazing!"
