BudigSkating.jpgOn last night's SKATING WITH THE STARS, Rebecca Budig (Greenlee, ALL MY CHILDREN) and pro partner Fred Palascak glided their way to victory on the ice for the second week! "I felt I did really well," Budig told Soaps In Depth after the performance/results show that booted Sean Young (ex-Meggie, THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS) off the program. "We learned a new routine in five days. I just have to bring more to the table next week."

Cameron Mathison (Ryan) was in the audience, cheering for his on-screen girlfriend. Call him biased if you will, but the actor feels that Budig's doing an awesome job! "She's so graceful and she looks like she belongs out there on the rink," Mathison raves. "She was doing things that looked much harder than what everybody else was doing."

Could the judges be giving Budig lower scores than she deserves in order to make the ice-skating show more compelling? (There's nothing more boring than watching a runaway reality competition series.) "My honest opinion -- and it's just my opinion -- is that they know she's head and shoulders above the rest," Mathison says. Adds Palascak, "The judging was fair. The routine we did the first week was very polished. There was one minor mistake tonight and Rebecca's been picking on herself all night about it. I barely noticed it myself, but maybe the judges see stuff like that?"

Judge Laurieann Gibson gave Budig a pair of 8s for technical and artistic merit, but defends the lower scores the soap star received from the other judges. "Johnny [Weir] is looking for specific things," she says. "He's expecting a lot out there." With that in mind, Gibson adds, "This is anyone's game to win. You can't put your money on anyone right now."

Tune in to ABC next Monday, December 6, at 8 p.m. ET to see Budig skate again!

ABC has announced that James Franco (ex-Franco, GENERAL HOSPITAL) and Anne Hathaway will co-host the 83rd Academy Awards Oscars telecast on Sunday, February 24, 2011. "We hope to create an Oscars broadcast that will both showcase their incredible talents and entertain the world. We are completely thrilled that James and Anne will be joining forces with our brilliant creative team to do just that."

Franco's latest film is 127 Hours, the true story of mountain climber Aron Ralston, who became trapped by a boulder in Utah for more than 5 days. Anderson To Star In TNT Pilot!

GENERAL HOSPITAL's Bradford Anderson (Spinelli) has landed a role in an upcoming television pilot for cable network TNT. The drama will reunite STUDIO 60 ON THE SUNSET STRIP stars Steven Weber and D.L. Hughley as Mike Lomax, a widowed detective, and Terry Biggs, his newlywed partner, respectively. Anderson has been cast as their colleague, Thelonious Mueller, a socially awkward tech genius. (That doesn't sound familiar at all, does it?!?) But rather than working for a mob hitman like Spinelli, Thelonious is a computer investigator who works in the homocide division. The series is based on the novel The Rabbit Factory by Marshall Karp.

A show rep says "as with any pilot, it's business as usual with GH." So as of now, there will be no change in Anderson's screen time as Spinelli! Whew!

Make A Pledge With Vanessa!

This holiday season, GENERAL HOSPITAL's Vanessa Marcil Giovinazzo (Brenda) wants you to make your teeth as sparkling as can be! Earlier this month, the actress hosted the "Glide Into The Holidays" event and free skate day at Wollman Rink in Central Park, New York, where, in partnership with Oral B Glide floss and Operation Smile, Giovinazzo encouraged families to pledge not to forget their oral health this holiday season by switching to Glide, which slides easier in tight spaces compared to the leading floss. "I am an enormous fan of Glide floss," she admitted. "We all are in my house. My son, Kassius, hated flossing because it always got stuck in between his teeth. It became a 20-minute drama at night to get him to floss. When I found Oral B Glide, he loved it. He calls it his 'glossy flossy' because it goes up into his teeth and comes right back down. We've actually been using this floss before this whole affiliation even happened. So it was a no-brainer when they called and asked me to be a part of this."

For every pledge made this holiday season, Oral B will donate $1 to Operation Smile, up to $10,000. "It's such an incredible organization, that provides free surgeries for cleft lip, cleft palate and other facial deformities," says Giovinazzo. "They are changing these kids' lives. Do something great for your family, and money will go to this great charity."
