ALL MY CHILDREN

VINCENT IRIZARRY (David)
What was the highlight of the year for you, storyline wise?
"It would have to be the storyline with Project Orpheus and bringing people back from the presumed dead. It was great and exciting to play. Its research is founded in real research that's happening today; it's not something they were making up, regenerating dead cells. So it was great for the audience to see this happen, see people come back, and see Stuart come back. And because of that storyline, we got Angie's sight back with the same research, and also, they developed a relationship between the two of them. They were able to at least express their mutual respect of each other, and that was exciting. I think the audience loved watching that."

CHRISTINA BENNETT LIND (Bianca)

What was the highlight of the year for you, storyline wise?
"The highlight of my year was finally getting together with Marissa, because I had been hoping and searching for a lesbian relationship for Bianca since I found out she was a lesbian! (Like, before I even got the part!) I was so relieved that Bianca's love was reciprocated and that it was with Marissa, because the two characters balance one another so well. I loved being able to finally catch her eye when I was staring at her longingly!"
Other than your own, what do you think was your show's best storyline this year?
"I think the Angie/Jesse baby storyline was really good this year, partly because Debbi Morgan and Darnell Williams are both such talented performers, and they really brought their best to the work. Jesse giving her 'their' baby came from a compassionate place and was a powerful way to show how good intentions can be wrong and how complicated sensitive situations can become. Plus, there were baby 'Lucy's' all over set for a while! They were incredibly cute."
What performance on your show do you think was a standout this year?
"It was exciting to see Susan [Lucci] playing two characters after all this time as Erica. She was so specific when she was playing with Jane, and it was fun to watch her 'Jane' nuances and the details she was applying to that character. In a sense, her years as Erica perfectly prepared her to play Jane, and I could see her playing a character whom was playing another person! It was really funny, too, and I don't want to underestimate the power humor had on that canvas."
Was there a performance or a storyline on another show that stood out to you this year?
"GENERAL HOSPITAL had a storyline about a car accident and a lost child [Jake], and I saw some snippets of that work while on-set at AMC. There are real powerhouse actors on that show all around."

Darnell.jpg

DARNELL WILLIAMS (Jesse)
What was the highlight of the year for you, storyline wise?
"The birth. It took me awhile to wrap my head around it. I thought it was a little weird, but I just sort of said, 'Screw it.' When they said Angie was going to get pregnant I said, 'Okay... and that's all I have to say about that.' But it turned out to be some great stuff. We were able to pull some really nice layers from it."

MICHAEL E. KNIGHT (Tad)
What was the highlight of the year for you, storyline wise?
"The most fun I had was either working with Finn [Wittrock, Damon] or Jacob [Young, JR]. The son stuff. I really had fun when JR was drinking, and I loved working with Finn. The thing I just love is, the longer you're on the show, there are certain formulas that come around full circle. Everybody knows that if I have a shot with a woman on AMC, Vince [Irizarry, David] is going to end up with her. Throughout the course of the years, it got faster and faster, because I spent 6 months trying to get Cara into bed. She leaves me and 48 hours later, she's pregnant by David! I couldn't even get her into bed! 48 hours later, she's pregnant!"

Knight.jpg

Other than your own, what do you think was your show's best storyline this year?
"The whole baby swap storyline was stupid, but Debbi [Morgan, Angie] knocked the [heck] out of it. My mother called me in tears. She was talking about the storyline and she burst into tears when Angie got her sight back. That woman acted the [heck] out of that."

WALT WILLEY (Jack)
What was the highlight of the year for you, storyline wise?
"My favorite storyline for Jack I can sum up in one line: 'Frankly Erica, I don't give a damn about your feelings.' The fans stood up and cheered. I was watching some news reel of a bar, people watching the show stood up and cheered. I'm not Erica's bitch anymore!"

Willey.jpg

CAMERON MATHISON (Ryan)
What was the highlight of the year for you, storyline wise?
"I spent most of the year running around trying to save people, so it's tough to single one out. But I will say my favorite aspect of the year was how in the end, the writers brought around Ryan's past and really skillfully made sense of why he's such the hero running around trying to help people all of the time -- because he couldn't help his sister. It was as if it was planned, the way it all came together at the end. I really appreciated it, and I thought it was extremely well done. I was very surprised and impressed with that. That insight was really helpful."
Other than your own, what do you think was your show's best storyline this year?
"A lot of my favorite storylines have to do with the evil Dr. David Hayward to tell you the truth. I love a lot of the stuff that Vince [Irizarry] gets to do."

Mathison.jpg

DEBBI MORGAN (Angie)
Other than your own, what do you think was your show's best storyline this year?
"Ricky Paull Goldin (Jake), Chrishell Stause (Amanda) and Lindsay Hartley (Cara) were in a great story. It would have gone further had we not gotten the axe. That whole triangle was good. Ricky and Michael E. Knight (Tad) are two of my favorite people on the show. I think a lot of things would have played out. They were so strong. You were salivating for more, but time wasn't on our [side]. It's kind of hard."

JACOB YOUNG (JR)
What was the highlight of the year for you, storyline wise?
"The last storyline... pulling apart from everybody and isolating himself. Wanting, craving to belong, but he didn't belong. As much as Tad and JR were always trying to connect, it just wasn't enough. He went off the deep end finally. You grow up as Adam Chandler's son and there's a lot of reasons to go there. I think, all in all, that storyline was executed well. It will be one of my most memorable, because it was the last one."

GENERAL HOSPITAL

Anderson.jpg

BRADFORD ANDERSON (Spinelli)
What was the highlight of the year for you, storyline wise?
"For me, the dominating storyline was certainly the Jackal P.I. arc. It was definitely one of the more challenging things I've done since I joined the show. Some viewers might consider it a highlight, others a lowlight, but it certainly was what I'll remember from this year."
Other than your own, what do you think was your show's best storyline this year?
"Rather than pick one storyline, I just want to say how nice it is to have more of the veterans around lately. Hooray!"
What performance on your show do you think was a standout this year?
"Major kudos to Jen Lilley (Maxie) for coming into a very difficult situation and doing a fantastic job!"
Was there a performance or a storyline on another show that stood out to you this year?
" Does DIRTY SOAP count? I had no idea my friends were more interesting than I already thought they were."

MAURICE BENARD (Sonny)
Other than your own, what do you think was your show's best storyline this year?
" Of course, baby Jake dying. It was hard to watch that stuff, but I enjoyed the acting."
What performance on your show do you think was a standout this year?
" I'd have to say Tony Geary (Luke), Jonathan Jackson (Lucky), Steve Burton (Jason) and everybody in [the Jake] storyline. They were all amazing."

Maurice.jpg

BLAKE GIBBONS (Coleman)
What was the highlight of the year for you, storyline wise?
"The only storyline I was in was with Kate. It was a highlight first and foremost because it was a storyline! They allude to Coleman as such a sleaze and then for him to actually have a conversation and actually like somebody. It was an opportunity to show a side of this character that hadn't been seen up to that point."
What performance on your show do you think was a standout this year?
"For my money, Maurice Benard (Sonny) stands out every year. I don't understand why he doesn't get more recognition Emmy time. This dude is doing film work on daytime television!"

CAROLYN HENNESY (Diane)
What was the highlight of the year for you, storyline wise?
"Diane becoming a best-selling author. Art imitates life. I also loved, for different, more profound reasons [performance-wise] Diane resigning from being Sonny's lawyer."
What performance on your show do you think was a standout this year?
"Brianna Brown (ex-Lisa). She's got it all. Loved Lisa, hated Lisa, loved watching Lisa hate herself."
Was there a performance or a storyline on another show that stood out to you this year?
"David Canary (Adam/Stuart, ALL MY CHILDREN). 'Nuff said."

Jonathan.jpg

JONATHAN JACKSON (Lucky)
What was the highlight of the year for you, storyline wise?
"This year was kind of crazy. There was storyline after storyline of intense stuff. Most years you have two arcs or something, and this year it seemed to never stop, from Jake's death to the aftermath of that to Luke's drinking to the intervention to getting drugged up to Siobhan dying. Thing after thing after thing after thing. On a personal level, it was what I got to do with Tony Geary (Luke) around the Jake storyline. But also, the stuff with Becky Herbst (Elizabeth) in the initial aftermath of Jake's death was really strong, too. I thought Steve Burton (Jason) did phenomenal work in that time, as well."

LISA LOCICERO (Olivia)
What was the highlight of the year for you, storyline wise?
" Well, I guess being back on the canvas is a highlight. And getting to explore Olivia with a different kind of man -- a hypothetical "nice guy." Scott Reeves (Steve) is such a delight, and I can't wait to see how they plan to mess with us!"
Other than your own, what do you think was your show's best storyline this year?
"I've been enjoying Dante and Lulu and their troubled love. They always kill it together."
What performance on your show do you think was a standout this year?
"I thought Maurice Benard (Sonny) hit some new notes of vulnerability with Vanessa Marcil Giovinazzo (ex-Brenda), who was great to watch. They brought out a lot of great stuff in each other."

Locicero.jpg

KELLY SULLIVAN (KATE)
What was the highlight of the year for you, storyline wise?
"The first thing that came to my head was going back to Bensonhurst and remembering back to Sonny's childhood. We were so friggin' excited [to shoot] that! It really brought Sonny and Kate together. And... Kate got to dress up as Cyndi Lauper for Halloween!"
Other than your own, what do you think was your show's best storyline this year?
"I'm really loving this whole Robin and Patrick thing! I was kind of like, 'AH! What happens?!' And I'm curious about where they're going to take Shawn and Carly. Sean Blakemore (Shawn) is such a great actor."
What performance on your show do you think was a standout this year?
"Obviously, Maurice Benard(Sonny). He could read the phone book and I'd love it. And, I have to say, during the whole sequence when Dante got shot, after a week of that, I literally said, 'Oh my God. Lisa LoCicero (Olivia) and Julie Berman (Lulu) are so amazing!' They had to come to work every single day and be crying and beside themselves. Can you imagine doing that every single day? They are just breathtaking. I admire them so much."

ONE LIFE TO LIVE

KRISTEN ALDERSON (Starr)

Kristen5.jpg

What was the highlight of the year for you, storyline wise?
"When Roger [Howarth, Todd] came back and getting to do Todd/Starr scenes. It's really been fun to dig into that and do our best for the fans who are so excited to see us back on-screen together because we have such an awesome chemistry."
Was there a performance or a storyline on another show that stood out to you this year?
"I watched GENERAL HOSPITAL. Nathan Parsons (Ethan) did a storyline with Luke being an alcoholic. I thought Nathan did such a good job because Ethan doesn't really get choked up over things. He's really, really strong. I got to see Nathan do some more emotional stuff. He's such a talented actor, so it was really good they gave him that material to work with."

EDDIE ALDERSON (Matthew)

Eddie.jpg

Other than your own, what do you think was your show's best storyline this year?
"The whole Todd thing. I thought they did that really well. Roger Howarth (Todd) is a great actor. Itw as great to bring him back and have Victor vs. Todd. That was really fun."
What performance on your show do you think was a standout this year?
"John Paul [Lavoisier, Rex] did a really good job when Shane was being bullied. I think he did a really good job being the helpful parent. And then Gigi died... he's a really talented actor."

FARAH FATH (Gigi/Stacy)
What performance on your show do you think was a standout this year?
"I'll tell you who my favorite breakout star has been. His name is Patrick J. Gibbons, and he plays Sam. He is such a scene stealer. He is gonna be a huge star. OLTL broke the mold when they found this little guy. He makes me so happy, Every time he's in a scene, I have to rewind and watch it like, five times. He is just tremendous. I love him and I think he should be in every scene and I think every show should book him. He's the breakout star for 2011."

DavidGregory.jpg

DAVID GREGORY (Ford)
What was the highlight of the year for you, storyline wise?
"Not just getting a son, finding out he was mine, but he instant change that occurred. For some reason, that just really resonated with me and I felt emotions that I never felt before on set in front of a camera."
Other than your own, what do you think was your show's best storyline this year?
"You know what I really thought was cool? The way they decided to write out some of the veterans that were going to step out early. I think David Fumero's (ex-Cristian) exit was really neat and they couldn't have come more full-circle for the fans. Of course, Robin Strasser's (ex-Dorian) exit has a certain amount of panache to it."
What performance on your show do you think was a standout this year?
"I thought John Wesley Shipp (ex-Eddie) killed it."

ILENE KRISTEN (Roxy)
Other than your own, what do you think was your show's best storyline this year?
"The Todd and Victor story. Seeing the two of those guys together? That was a great acting treat."

Josh Kellycrop.jpg

JOSH KELLY (Cutter)
What was the highlight of the year for you, storyline wise?
"I really liked working with Robin Strasser (ex-Dorian). Our little mini-romance had on the show. I wish I could work with Tuc [Watkins, David] more. He's awesome."
Other than your own, what do you think was your show's best storyline this year?
" I thought the teenage cyberbullying was a good, topical storyline and an important thing to talk about. But the whole thing with Gigi and Rex, I thought John Paul [Lavoisier, Rex] did an amazing job. You know, when he was dealing with his real life girlfriend's character dying, he really knocked it out of the park."

NICOLAS ROBUCK (James)
What was the highlight of the year for you, storyline wise?
"Oh, Starr and James making their relationship "official" would definitely be a highlight."
Other than your own, what do you think was your show's best storyline this year?
"Rama faking her pregnancy and when it all came to a head when her stomach popped at David Vickers' premiere. That episode was pretty awesome!"
What performance on your show do you think was a standout this year?
"Kristen Alderson (Starr) has had some really great scenes with Roger [Howarth, Todd]. Also, Kelley Missal (Danielle) always stands out to me. When she heard about her dad being killed and her reactions to that and stuff, those were pretty standout scenes."
Was there a performance or a storyline on another show that stood out to you this year?
"On GH, Jonathan Jackson's performance when Lucky's child gets hit by a car. And it's his dad who did it because he was drunk. Those scenes between him and his dad were amazing."

DePaiva.jpg

KASSIE DEPAIVA (Blair)
What was the highlight of the year for you, storyline wise?
"I would say that kiss with Todd. I think it was the beginning of a whole new adventure for Blair.
What performance on your show do you think was a standout this year?
"I really loved Susan Haskell's work when Marty went crazy. I think she is a phenomenal actress. I enjoyed watching Jessica and Natalie's wedding when Clint came in. I loved Eddie Alderson's (Matthew) work with the shooting of Eddie Ford. There is so much phenomenal stuff."

Missal.jpg

KELLEY MISSAL (Danielle)
What was the highlight of the year for you, storyline wise?
"One of the big highlights is Trevor [St. John, ex-Victor] leaving and his death. Todd coming in and all of that was huge this year. That was fun because you know the fans are so involved in it and so emotional so you get really into it, too."
What performance on your show do you think was a standout this year?
"I really enjoy watching Bree [Williamson] play Jessica and how she does her alters is incredible to me. You have to put so much work in. Just thinking about that and seeing it, she's amazing and entertaining."

LENNY PLATT (Nate)
What was the highlight of the year for you, storyline wise?
"I liked doing the porn premiere and trying to make that as realistic as possible even though it was just so absurd. I was really happy with it. It was so much fun to shoot."
What performance on your show do you think was a standout this year?
"Erika [Slezak, Viki] kills it. She's putting on an acting clinic every time. I will just sit there, running my lines with some other actors, and we'll have the monitors on and just watch her work."
