AMC's Barr Gets Her Vogue On!

ALL MY CHILDREN's Julia Barr no longer gets the pleasure of jumping into Brooke's shoes and judging Erica, so she's doing the next best thing: Judging a fashion competition! Following her stint last year as part of the Born Free USA's fffashion contest, which helps up and coming designers get exposure via fur-free designs, Barr is once again jumping on board as a judge in the competition. "When I said yes, it made everyone happy, including myself!" says the Emmy-award winning actress, adding that animal welfare has always been something dear to her heart. "I've always loved everything having to do with animals. I've grown up with them and had them in my homes as companions for years. And I'm like the dog rescuer in our neighborhood -- it's so bizarre!"

And Barr isn't alone in her support of all things animal related: Joining her as judges in the competition are actress Victoria Principal (Pamela, DALLAS), red-carpet host Melissa Rivers, designer Elizabeth Emanuel and Tony Award-winning costume designer Marina Draghici. "I'm excited to be a part of this with them," the actress raves of her Born Free counterparts. "It's all about compassion and awareness in fashion more than anything, and I think people will think twice about what they wear and what they put on their face, and what happens to the animals."

Interview: OLTL's Walton Stars On Stage!

As ONE LIFE TO LIVE's Eli, Matt Walton played the ultimate bad boy. But in his latest role, he's the ultimate playboy! The actor is currently starring in a production of Boeing-Boeing at the Paper Mill Playhouse in New Jersey as Bernard, and American cad living in Paris during the swinging '60s, juggling three flight-attendant fiancées. With a little help from his phenomenal housekeeper and the luck of differing airline timetables, Bernard is able to convince each lady that she is his one and only. That is, until the fast, new Boeing jet and weather delays place the women on a collision course!

"It's a farce, so I'm getting to do more comedy," an excited Walton tells Soaps In Depth. "My character is filling up his days doing a balancing act with these three flight attendants: one German, one American and one Italian. The play comments on the socioeconomic statuses of the different governments of this triangle through the lens of this ridiculous, over-the-top French farce. He's very calculating, and depends on the precision of the airline schedule [to keep his fiancées apart]." But then all hell breaks loose when, thanks to the faster new airplane engines and bad weather, all three ladies are in Paris at the same time! "Doors slam, identities are mistaken, everyone's kissing everyone and women are flying all over the stage. It's quite a romp!" he says with a chuckle.

Is GH Recasting Michael?

Might GENERAL HOSPITAL's Michael Corinthos soon be getting a different look? The latest rumor making the rounds is that the soap may be recasting Chad Duell, who has been playing Carly and Sonny's son since 2010... but that may not necessarily be the case!

Late last week, ABC put out a casting notice for an unnamed 18-24 year old male of any ethnicity for a contract role, due to start taping in March or April. At the time, there was no available audition script. Earlier this week, the network posted sides for a character named "Erik" -- a character who wants to join the Mob and is covering self-doubt about the time he broke, the time he was a victim. Even more, the scene takes place with Jason -- who is trying to mentor "Erik" -- in the office of a Mob restaurant!

While the character of "Erik" does bear a strong resemblance to that of Michael, fans of Duell's shouldn't jump to any conclusions that their boy is not long for the show, because soaps often use past scenes to audition actors for unrelated roles! And while at some point in time, Duell may or may not be replaced, that time is not now! "I'm not," Duell responded to a fan on Twitter who asked if the rumors of his leaving were true.

Would You Watch GH In Primetime?

Should GENERAL HOSPITAL be taken off the ABC Daytime roster in September to make room for Katie Couric's syndicated new chatfest, there just may be a Plan B for the network's sole remaining soap opera: Moving it to primetime!

In its new print issue as well as on its Web site, TV Guide reports that one scenario being bandied about by ABC is moving GH to primetime programming as a short-run summer series, similar to a Spanish telenovela. According to TV Guide's insider, even if the cost of production doubled over the typical budget of approximately $200,000 an episode, an after-dark version of GH would still be inexpensive for an original scripted show. A spokesperson for GH had no comment.

Tell us below, would you watch a primetime version of GENERAL HOSPITAL?

Sears Gets A Badge!

ONE LIFE TO LIVE's Teddy Sears (ex-Chad) returns to television this weekend in Lifetime TV's much-anticipated, controversial new original film, Untouchable: The Drew Peterson Story. Rob Lowe stars in the title role as the Chicago-area cop who comes under suspicion in not only the disappearance of his decades-younger wife (played by THE BIG BANG THEORY's Kaley Cuoco), but the death of his third wife as well! "I play Mike Adler, Drew's partner on the police force and close friend," Sears tells Soaps In Depth of his part in the ripped-from-the-headlines tale.

As the 2007 investigation ensues, the accused's subsequent odd behavior raises eyebrows and sparks a media storm. "Their friendship, as well as partnership, becomes strained and eventually damaged once Peterson begins his bizarre behavior and antics for the media, fueling the circus-like atmosphere," Sears says. "I was just trying to keep pace with Lowe during filming. He's incredibly good."

New Details On OLTL Stars Headed To GH!

Less than a week after ONE LIFE TO LIVE aired its final episode, Kristen Alderson (Starr), Kassie DePaiva (Blair), Roger Howarth (Todd) and Michael Easton (John) are preparing to bring their alter egos to GENERAL HOSPITAL. The Llanview residents are due to appear in Port Charles next month -- just in time for February Sweeps -- which means that the actors are due on the GH set by the end of this month. "Just heard a tiny bit about my first storyline on General Hospital!" Alderson tweeted last night. "Can't WAIT to start filming...not this Friday but next! SO SOON!"

But is the move to GH a permanent one for the foursome? Not necessarily, says DePaiva, who took to her blog at to clear the air about Blair's future in Port Charles. "I must say, the ads and the press release by ABC is a little misleading," she writes. "Frank Valentini, [OLTL's former executive producer and now] GH's EP, asked me to come out for a couple of shows in February and I'm thrilled. Not only will I get to work with a fantastic cast... but a little piece of OLTL lives on. That makes me very happy. And who knows where it will lead."

A New Gig For Lucci!

Susan Lucci (Erica, ALL MY CHILDREN) is taking her decades of experience in acting on daytime soap operas and applying them to some real-life dramas as the host and narrator of the new primetime series DEADLY AFFAIRS!

Airing on the cable network Investigation Discovery, the show will explore romances-gone-wrong, and the resulting crimes of passion. "They are deceptive love relationships, love triangles and betrayal that have deadly consequences," Lucci says. "And they end in tragedy. Every day you hear these stories and you think, 'Oh, my goodness!' Then they disappear. You don't know what happened next, and you don't know why they happened. I'm hoping that, in exploring them, we'll shed some light on human nature."

Production begins on the 10-episode series in March, and it is set to debut in the fall. Lucci describes the show as a "real-life soap," and says that she couldn't help but smile when she was offered the hosting role. "As Erica, I got punished for my wrong deeds," Lucci noted. "I wound up in jail several times, even in a blood-stained ball gown. But with DEADLY AFFAIRS, these are not characters on a soap opera. This is real life."

GH Alum Has A Witchy Primetime Role!

GENERAL HOSPITAL alum Emma Caulfield (ex-Lorraine) visits the fairytale land that was on this Sunday's episode of ONCE UPON A TIME! In "True North," Caulfield guest stars as the Blind Witch, from whom the Evil Queen coerces orphans Hansel and Gretel into stealing an important artifact.

"I walked into my trailer and looked in the full-length mirror and I was like 'Damn! This is something!'" she tells Soaps In Depth of her wardrobe and makeup transformation. "It's visually stunning, it's a very high concept show. I got to be reunited with two of the writers I've had the pleasure of working with extensively: Jane Stenson who has written for absolutely everything, including BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER, and then Liz Tigler, who was my boss for a huge chunk of last year withLIFE UNEXPECTED. So having both of their words to have the potential of working around was really cool.

Caulfield teases that her torment of little Hansel and Gretel on Sunday may not be her only appearance. "It depends on certain things," she says coyly. "If I do end up coming back, then great. If I don't, then I had a great experience."

The Scorpio Family Reunited!

This may be the only good thing to come out of the impeding exit of GENERAL HOSPITAL's Kimberly McCullough (Robin): the Scorpio family will be back together once more! Our pals at TV Line broke the exclusive news that Tristan Rogers (Robert) will be joining Finola Hughes (Anna) when she returns to the soap for February Sweeps to usher out their television daughter.

As previously reported, Hughes is due back on the screen early next month, and Rogers will follow mid-February. Both actors are due to stick around for "the foreseeable future" and not just to facilitate Robin's exit... whatever that may be.

While the storyline is bound to be a tear-jerker, McCullough couldn't be happier to have her TV parents back in the fold.
