Monaco Places Third!

Melissa Rycroft and Tony Dovolani may have won DANCING WITH THE STARS: ALL-STARS, but Kelly Monaco (Sam, GENERAL HOSPITAL) didn't let her third place finish get her down. "We were shocked every week that we still made it," she told Soaps In Depth after the show. "We made it to the finale and we are winners [for making it this far]. I feel excellent. I can't wait to pop open a bottle of Dom Perignon in my trailer and get on an airplane. I'm really excited."

After flying to New York City and doing more press for the reality series, Monaco will return to LA and her role on GH after having a couple of weeks off. "I'm back to work on Monday," she said of returning to the soap after this experience. "That's when I think it'll hit me. I think I'm going to go through a little bit of a depression. It'll be weird. Thank God I have a whole group of amazing people over at GH that are going to make me feel like I'm not totally crazy!"

Speaking of her castmates, the amateur hoofer had the usual cheering section in the audience, including on-screen mom and sis Nancy Lee Grahn (Alexis) and Haley Alexis Pullos (Molly). "She was absolutely amazing," Pullos gushed to us after Monaco took third. "I have never been more proud in my whole life."

"She blew my mind this whole season with her focus and commitment and courage," Grahn added. "She has my deepest respect. I see her in a much deeper, better way. This was really fun to watch. It was also insanely impressive to watch."

Who's That Girl?

We spent months asking just that question when Alyshia Ochse played Cassandra, the mystery woman in white who stole Ethan's heart on GENRAL HOSPITAL. However, after seeing her two new projects, you'll know exactly who this actress is! In the upcoming, 70s-themed crime thriller, Parker, action heartthrob Jason Statham plays a double-crossed thief who partners up with his real estate agent (Jennifer Lopez) to hijack a rival's heist.

"I play Jennifer Lopez's nemesis and I'm kind of the catalyst of how the movie moves forward," Ochse previews. "She's very sweet, beautiful, and a real down-home girl. I have to be very condescending to her in the movie, and I was terrified that she'd think I am a mean person [too]!"

Can't wait until the film's Friday, January 25, release? You're in luck! Catch Ochse now in THE FLIP SIDE, the hottest new comedy on Yahoo. "I run around with a little comedy brigade. They came up with the idea for a scenario where we'd flip genders — how men and women would act in a bar," she says of the improvisational-style vignette from director Jay Diaz. "We got two million hits in the first week!" After they went on to hit the pop culture radar worldwide, the comedy troupe got great news: Yahoo wanted to finance a mini-season!

"Every Monday through January we will be releasing new ones. So far, we've flipped genders in a bar and on the dating scene. Next we'll show the flip side of the gym, and we just finished our funniest one: the flip side of parenting!" she reveals. "I don't want to give it away, but it's hilarious!" For more on Ochse's exciting post-GH career (and we do mean exciting!), check out her upcoming Keeping Track feature in Soaps In Depth.

Can Monaco Pull Off Another Victory?

Last night was the final performance show for DANCING WITH THE STARS: ALL-STARS, and Kelly Monaco (Sam, GENERAL HOSPITAL) finally got her first 10s from the judges this season, although she and partner Valentin Chmerkovskiy didn't get all 10s. "I was frustrated that Len [Goodman, judge] could not appreciate what we did in our freestyle," Monaco confessed after the show. "He gave us a 10 for the paso doble. I felt that the freestyle was by far the highlight of what we did this season."

Their freestyle performance to "I've Had The Time Of My Life" from Dirty Dancing had the actress performing aerial work for the first time, and she quickly got over her initial fears. "I felt really comfortable up there," Monaco revealed, "and wished I could have been up there all night!"

Monaco may have won the very first season of DANCING WITH THE STARS, but she holds no illusions that her earlier victory will make triumphing over opponents Melissa Rycroft and Shaun Johnson any easier. "It would be icing on the cake," she admitted of taking home the trophy again. "Sure, we both want it. When you get to the home stretch and you see that it's viable, we want it just as bad as the other two couples do."

With a score of 59, Monaco and Chmerkovskiy are in between Rycroft and Tony Dovolani (with 60 points) and Shawn and Derek Hough (with 57). In tonight's results finale, all three couples will perform an "insta-dance" and their scores from that will be combined with these scores and viewer votes to determine the winner. Tune in tonight to see if GH fans were able to give Monaco the win!

Robuck's Sexy New Role!

On ONE LIFE TO LIVE, Nic Robuck played good guy James Ford, but in the new movie Dark Desire, he's inhabiting a much darker character. Shane is a young man who has suffered a rough upbringing, and upon seeing his new college roommate's family decides he'd like that kind of family for himself... or maybe that family in particular!

"His roommate takes him home and Shane kind of sees this family life that his best friend has that he's always wanted," says Robuck. "He really wants to become a part of that and is willing to do whatever it takes. And he kind of goes to desperate measures. He kind of seduces the mom and... some people die!"

And while OLTL fans are going to see a whole new side to the young actor, they're also going to be seeing a whole lot more of him, too. "The mom is played by Kelly Lynch, who is just fantastic and talented and very, very sexy. I was nervous about having to be so... nude with this woman," Robuck says with a chuckle. "But you know, you just don't think about it. You go in for the kill and you do it. It was stressful, but it was well-directed and it looks great."

Dark Desire will be debuting on Lifetime Movie Network this Friday, November 23, at 8:00 pm EST. "And it's going to run like crazy through the holidays," Robuck reports, "so it'll be hard to miss. I'd love for people to tune in!"

Monaco Made It To The Finale!

After last night's eliminations on DANCING WITH THE STARS: ALL-STARS, it looks like next week's finale is going to be ladies night, with GENERAL HOSPITAL's Kelly Monaco (Sam) joining reality TV star Melissa Rycroft and U.S. Olympic gymnast Shawn Johnson. "I know! It's amazing," Monaco enthused following the show. "I don't know why it happened, but it happened and I embrace girl power. I think it's awesome. I'm honored to be up there with two amazing women."

But when faced with the idea that the champion of the first season of DANCING could go home with the mirror ball ball trophy for ALL STARS, the actress remains humble. "That would be really wild, wouldn't it?" Monaco mused. "We'll see. I mean, it's a one-in-three shot at this point."

Partner Valentin Chmerkovskiy promises that for their final freestyle, they're going to bare their souls instead of skin. "I don't know anything about what Val has planned for our freestyle," Monaco confided. "But I'm sure it's going to be amazing!"

And since the GH fans have been voting their fingers off to keep Monaco in the competition, it seems only fair that DANCING returns the favor by running a promo for the soap during the finale. "I think that would be a really smart idea," she said, before adding with a laugh, "I think maybe we should talk to somebody!"

Did Monaco Score High Enough?

With two couples being voted off of DANCING WITH THE STARS: ALL-STARS this week, the low scores that Kelly Monaco (Sam, GENERAL HOSPITAL) got for her "surfer" flamenco and rumba with partner Valentin Chmerkovskiy could place her in danger if her fans didn't rally to vote enough to keep her in!"They are everything!" the actress said last night of her loyal supporters. "If you add it up, we've probably been the lowest-scoring couple and we haven't been in jeopardy. We haven't scored a 10 yet, and we're still in the competition."

Although the judges didn't enjoy the "surfer" flamenco, Monaco insists that they put a lot of work into the routine. "It was dangerous, actually," she confided of performing in the water. "During dress rehearsal I actually slipped and it could have been really dangerous. So I was a little hesitant out there. I probably could have attacked it a little bit better, but knowing there was a level of danger there..."

Also, she believes that their second routine was worthy of higher scores. "I feel we danced well enough to justify a 10 in the rumba," Monaco declared. "If they think in the flamenco that the choreography wasn't up to snuff with what they wanted, I completely understand that and I respect their opinion. But I personally feel that I went out there and did a really clean solid rumba and the choreography that Val gave me was on a technical ability that was above and beyond my expectations. He made me dance the rumba the way it's supposed to be danced. Scores aside, I feel like this has been my best dance yet this season. That's al that matters. I feel really great about it."

And what about that kiss that concluded their rumba? "It was planned," Monaco revealed. "It was part of the choreography. We could have done anything, but we kissed like that."

As the season winds to a close, she's not looking ahead to victory, but still taking it one week at a time. "Tonight was the hardest," she said. "Making it to the finale is icing on the cake."

Spinelli Makes His Choice!

Who will Spinelli choose? And, will Faison "go up in smoke"?

Thumbnail image for JPI_bigthumb.ghEpisode12687_997532.jpg Whoever it is that said nice guys finish last, obviously, had never been to Port Charles, NY. Spinelli -- bless his little heart -- went from being a girl repellent to a chick magnet quicker than you can say "The Big Bang's GENERAL HOSPITAL Theory." Yes, geeks with a heart as soft as their abs need love, too... and Spinelli's got more love than he ever imagined! Maxie finally told him she loves him, but that sad sack look on his face didn't scream, "Woo HOO! Ellie, you're outta here!" Team Spixie or Team SpEll? He's gotta make a choice! And he will. Place your bets...

Faison learned a very valuable lesson last week -- smoking cigarettes is bad for you. It's especially bad if you're masquerading as someone who doesn't smoke. Like, duh. What's weird, though, was that Olivia (aka The Long Island Psychic) mentioned Faison's dirty little habit LONG before mentioning his crazy Alfred Einstein hair! She sees things that aren't there but doesn't see things that ARE! Anyway, will Robert be able to warn Anna before she does the deed with the super villain?

Plus this coming week, Sonny makes a move to keep A.J. from Michael, Sam goes after McBain (and not in a good way), and the end of a Quartermaine era as they say goodbye to one of their own. It's a GH Thanksgiving episode you won't want to miss.

Don't forget: 2:00 ET and 1:00 PT/CT on ABC. Be there!

Monaco Lives To Dance Again!

Kelly Monaco (Sam, GENERAL HOSPITAL) was declared safe last night on DANCING WITH THE STARS, and enters the semi-finals with partner Valentin Chmerkovskiy. And luckily, she can focus on her upcoming routines fully because she doesn't have to report back to GH until after the DANCING finale on Tuesday, November 27! "I'm excited," Monaco said after last night's results show, "and I can't wait to get the week started."

She may need that extra focus because they were assigned "Surfer" Flamenco, which is an unusual combination to say the least! "Hey, every dance is weird to me!" Monaco admitted. "It's all foreign, so I may as well do something no one else has done."

While Monaco and Chmerkovskiy survived another week, they sadly had to say good-bye to his brother, Maksim, who was eliminated with partner Kirstie Alley. "This is the first time I've outlasted him," Chmerkovskiy said. And Monaco added, "It's bittersweet. I think it was awful, and probably the worst case scenario we could have had."

But since they're still in the competition, Monaco has to figure out how to perform a "Surfer" flamenco by next week! Don't forget to tune in and vote!

Can Monaco Waltz Into The Next Round?

After performing her two routines on DANCING WITH THE STARS last night, Kelly Monaco (Sam, GENERAL HOSPITAL) wasn't feeling very confident despite the high scores that the judges gave her. "Could have done better," she told Soaps In Depth after the taping, "but that's okay.

"I enjoyed both for different reasons," Monaco added. "I worked really hard for the Viennese waltz, and I think I improved tremendously from when we started on Tuesday to tonight. I'm satisfied with my performance."

The actress also says that doing the trio dance with partner Valentin Chmerkovskiy and professional dancer and choreographer Louis van Amstel was an amazing experience. "The trio was just a blast," she enthused. "I had so much fun. That's what I'm here to do."

And while Monaco is grateful to have her GH castmates as well as other friends sitting in the DANCING audience for her performances, she knows who's really keeping her going. "I know that fans are supporting us as well," she said. "If they could be in the audience every week, they would. I feel that. I know that stepping out on the floor.

"When I see those cameras pass by I see all their faces," Monaco continued. "I know a lot of their faces and I interact with them on Twitter and whatever social media outlets [there are]. I feel like I'm looking at all their faces when I'm out there."

Hopefully the fans voted enough to keep Monaco dancing for another round!

Who Is Cesar Faison?

Longtime GENERAL HOSPITAL viewers were just as surprised to see Cesar Faison as Robin was. But for those not "in the know" about the villain extraordinaire, we're here to fill you in!

The powers that be over at GH pulled yet another rabbit out of their hat and resurrected one of the show's scariest villains! Judging by that shivering, shaking, terrified look on Robin's face upon seeing Faison in the flesh, it was apparent that she was having a pretty lousy day. In fact, it was the worst day she could have ever imagined!

Anders Hove originated the character back in 1990, when he came onto the canvas as the son of Anna's childhood nanny. She became a secret agent with the World Security Bureau (WSB) and he fell into the DVX, which was filled with the most evil players on the planet. He became obsessed with her and succeeded in breaking up her marriage to Robert and kidnapping both her and Robin. Along the way, he stalked and kidnapped Felicia, smuggled diamonds, brainwashed Lucky on Helena's orders, and created a nerve gas that he not only sold to third world nations, but that he also planned on releasing it on everyone in Port Charles. Plus he shot his own mother dead!

Faison's obsession with Anna has not diminished through the years. It's only got stronger and more desperate... as evidenced by the lifelike rubber Duke mask!

Hove had a blast reprising the role of the legendary supervillain, even if only for a handful of episodes. "I had so much fun acting with so many of my old friends at GH," he told us. For more details about his stint and how they kept this amazing secret under wraps, look out for the next issue of Soaps In Depth, on sale soon!

Who Is Behind Duke's Mask?

Holy rubber masks, Batman! Duke is an imposter!

If it walks like a Duke and talks like a Duke, it isn't necessarily a Duke! Halloween came a week late on GENERAL HOSPITAL when "Duke Lavery" slipped into Robin's Swiss hospital room, failed her test of "I remember it well" and then ripped off a lifelike Mission Impossible-esque mask! Her reaction to seeing the face underneath was a terrified (and priceless), "Oh. My. God." All those cynics who chanted that the powers that be were writing Duke out of character, SURPRISE! That's because he's not Duke! Wait 'til you see where it goes NEXT! Soaps In Depth knows the secrets behind this story. Yes, "secrets." Plural. Sorry, we're not going to give it away, because it's a double-doozy that you'll want to see for yourself.

Carly's reaction to seeing A.J., her former husband who she thought was murdered seven years ago, wasn't as monosyllabic as Robin's was with anti-Duke. Nope. One thing Carly is NOT on Monday is short on words, not just with A.J., but also with Monica. Sticks and stones may break some bones but handcuffs really do hurt! And don't think that being tied up, gagged and locked in the boathouse will stop Tracy from putting in her two cents because it won't. There's a Quartermaine storm brewing and it's about to turn into a category five whopper called Hurricane Tracy!

Just when Connie thought she had steered herself clear of time in a mental hospital, she, instead, steered herself right towards time a prison cell. Pulling that "Connie is the host personality and Kate is the alter" card out of her sleeve looked like a good idea, until it made Connie vulnerable to time behind bars for the death of Hope and Cole. Oops. Guess she didn't think of that before she spoke. Open mouth; insert faux leopard skin ankle boots. Will Johnny help her out of this mess... or push her into it?

Aside from the "people aren't who they say they are" theme in those two storylines, this coming week also has Patrick following through on a "proposition," Dante and Lulu finding a way to become parents... and the return of Robert Scorpio! GH Monday... be there!

Genzel Makes a Wish!

Together with the Hallmark Channel, Carrie Genzel (Skye, ALL MY CHILDREN) will be kicking off the holiday season with the family film, The Wishing Tree. It it, she plays a domineering woman whose son gets into trouble when left at boarding school over Christmas. "She blames the professor (Jason Gedrick) who took the boy under his wing and insists on his firing, but comes to realize that what her son needed was to be feel like he's part of a family and know he's loved," Genzel previews. "This is a great holiday film that tackles overcoming our fears and remembering what is most important in life — something that gets easily lost in the busy holiday shuffle." The Wishing Tree premieres on the Hallmark Channel on Saturday, November 10, at 8 p.m. EST.

Injured Monaco Still Thrills!

On last night's DANCING WITH THE STARS, GENERAL HOSPITAL's Kelly Monaco (Sam) performed a fusion of foxtrot and cha cha, earning rave reviews from the judges despite suffering a terrible fall in rehearsals. "I finally had my ribs put back into place," Monaco revealed after the show. "I had two ribs that were splintered out. I couldn't breathe. I was literally holding back tears for three hours in the rehearsal."

Dancing with an injury would be bad enough, but in this round, Monaco and partner Valentin Chmerkovskiy had to combine two styles... not that the actress minded one bit! "It was awesome," she enthused. "It was so fun." Added Chmerkovskiy: "It came really effortlessly. This week was one of my favorite weeks. I loved it."

No one will be going home this week due to election results, but don't miss next week's episode when there will be a double elimination! Hopefully you voted enough to keep Kelly in the running!

Irizarry Was Left To Die!

Prepare yourselves to see ALL MY CHILDREN's Vincent Irizarry (David) as you've never seen him before in the Lifetime Original Movie Left To Die! In the shocking true story, Irizarry plays Nick Kakeris, who travels to Ecuador on vacation with friend Sandra Chase, played by Barbara Hershey. "And while we were there, we were set up at the airport by Interpol to make it appear as though we were trying to smuggle drugs out of the country," the actor explains in character. "The two of us are thrown into separate jails. You get to see the conditions that she and I are living in. It's like hell on Earth, basically. The movie is about the daughter's efforts to do everything within her power to get her mother out of there."

But does that mean that nobody is trying to get Nick out of his own prison? "I don't want to give too much away," Irizarry says with a laugh. "But yeah, efforts are certainly made. You do see me in jail. I have numerous scenes in jail, so you get to see what my life is like simultaneously with hers..."
