Franco Renders Carly Speechless!

GENERAL HOSPITAL's Carly may think she's a modern, super cool mom but, when push comes to shove, she still pulls out the old standard lines that mothers have been using since the turn of the century: "I don't care HOW old you are, I'm still your mother and what I say goes!" For a minute, it worked when she was ordering Morgan to move out of the Q mansion. But Franco knew how to shut her up fast! "I'm only gonna say this once," he said, taking a step closer. "You either let Morgan stay here, or I will tell him that you tried to kill me." Yup. Carly was speechless. Alert the press!

Luke's been shot a couple of times, caught in an avalanche, hit by a car, had a heart attack and attacked by an encephalitis plague, but he's never been afraid of dying. But the news that Helena had been poisoning him with a radioactive toxin hit him unusually hard. That helpless, hopeless look on his face was unlike him. Maybe it was because of Lulu's sentimental words of love and anticipation of him being granddad to her baby... or maybe it's because he doesn't have the fight left in him. Even after Helena is [supposedly] dead and gone, she may end up getting the last laugh anyway.

Apparently Taylor is both left and right brained. She can spell AND has artistic talent. "T-J and M-E had S-E-X. Do you get it now or do I have to draw you a picture?" she asked Molly. Molly's reaction, O-M-G! Yes, her first boyfriend broke her heart. Surprise, surprise. Welcome to adolescence, Mol. So you thought Rafe was just a pal, huh? Right. D-E-N-I-A-L. We can spell, too.

This week on GH, will Olivia take Sonny up on his offer to go home with him? Is his and Carly's relationship beyond repair? Is knowing that she's having a baby girl weakening Maxie's resolve to give her up? All that and SO much more, including breakups and hookups under Fourth Of July fireworks!

Don't forget: 2:00 ET and 1:00 PST/CT on ABC. Be there!

While they can't fix Mom's heart, the sibs learn that they can help her save the bankrupt town by reuniting their once successful family band for a holiday concert. GH Shocker: Sullivan Out!

Although GENERAL HOSPITAL doesn't comment on contract statues, Kelly Sullivan (Connie) herself has confirmed her exit, saying that she will not be returning after August.

The actress joined the soap in September of 2011 as a Kate recast, and soon won over fans as she portrayed both that character and her alternate personality, Connie, in a dramatic storyline twist. While it would seem that GH is currently setting up a Connie/Sonny/Olivia triangle, this news coming on the heels of Lisa LoCicero (Olivia) signing a new contract would seem to indicate that Olivia won't have much competition for Sonny.

While there were reports that Sullivan and GH were unable to come to terms on a new contract, she insists that is not the case. "This is not a contract issue," she posted in a Facebook statement. "I have been written off the show.

"I have no ill feelings towards any of the staff or crew connected to the show or the network," she adds. "I will miss everyone dearly."

Look for more from Sullivan in an upcoming issue of ABC Soaps In Depth!

Meet Lindstrom And See A Great Film!

Thumbnail image for Lindstrom2.jpg

GENERAL HOSPITAL's Jon Lindstrom (Kevin) is proving to be quite a respected movie mogul!

The Manhattan Film Festival will be hosting one of the final U.S. film festival showings of Lindstrom's, multiple award-winning feature film, How We Got Away With It, prior to its general release later this year. The independent thriller marks his feature film directorial debut and has already received major honors at festivals across the country. He, of course, will be in attendance at its Saturday, June 29 screening in New York City's Hunter College.

"We've been filling up the theaters everywhere we go," he smiles. It doesn't hurt that the accolades keep rolling in! Thus far, it has received the Stolman Audience Award for Best Independent American Feature at the Sonoma International Film Festival and the Best Thriller Feature Film at Bare Bones International Film & Music Festival. "Not to brag but we also got nominated for Best Showcase Feature Film at SOHO International Film Festival and Best Actor/Filmmaker in a Feature Film (yours truly!) at Bare Bones. Not bad," he laughs. "To have something that's so important to you go out there and come back with so many kudos in so many different ways is really a great honor and it is a big affirmation. I didn't expect it." And it's just the beginning of his directing career!

"I recently made an agreement with a publishing company for a books-to-film deal — I give them certain guidelines and they look for works that aren't already attached," Lindstrom says. "My manager and I are also discussing a couple of projects because he'd like to get me back into the director's chair with the sideline of acting as soon as possible. It's very exciting. That seems to be the road that I'm walking down... and I'll take it!"

But GH fans, do not fret. Lindstrom is also returning to GH. "I'm doing some days on GH in July!" While waiting for those episodes to air sometime in August, show your support by checking out How We Got Away With It at the Manhattan Film Festival. Tickets are available at this link and more info can be found at!

GH Offspring Heading To DAYS?

We're going to see how much talent GENERAL HOSPITAL's Maurice Benard (Sonny) has passed on to his kids, as the actor's wife, Paula, tweeted that their nine-year-old son, Joshua, has landed a gig on DAYS OF OUR LIVES! "Going to get work permit for Joshua to do DOOL," she posted online. "Haven't done this since Cailey played your son in a nightmare of the death of Lilly!" (The couple's daughter appeared as little Michael in a dream sequence 18 years ago.) We're working on getting confirmation and more information from DAYS regarding the character, and we'll let you know as soon as we know more!

GH's Michael And Kiki Kiss But DON'T Tell!

MichaelKiki.jpg There's something to be said for how hot, humid northeastern summers are played out on soaps. It results in squirt gun fights and dips in local watering holes... and able-bodied blokes whipping off their shirts to cool off! Three cheers for climate change!

Nikolas, Michael and Morgan all paraded their pectorals in the name of warm weather. Even Kiki joined the topless brigade. Not by choice, though. By "oopsie daisy, my bikini top slipped just in time for Michael to see my..." Uh huh. What will they come up with to show some skin during blizzard season? Will they join the Polar Bear Club? Duke summed up the Michael/Kiki/Morgan triangle perfectly when he said, "Michael kissed his brother's girlfriend, who turned out to be his cousin." It sounds kind of silly when he puts it that way.

Nikolas won this week's Wet T-shirt Contest. He also won this week's No T-shirt Contest. Liz got quite an eyeful, which meant viewers got one, too. Ya think Nikolas noticed how much she was looking at the ground? It was a win-win day for him. Liz not only ogled him, but she also heard A.J.'s phone message admitting he slept with Carly! He should have bought a lottery ticket.

Although it would have been nice for Carly to get in trouble with the law just for kicks, she and Shawn both lucked out when the ballistics report came in and revealed that the Shawn's gun was NOT the one that fired the bullet that hit Olivia! Then whose gun DID it come from? That's the big question that WILL be answered this week! Plus, Luke's diagnosis has him facing mortality, Connie reveals how she really feels about Sonny... and there's that little issue about an unborn baby's paternity!

Don't forget: 2:00 ET and 1:00 PST/CT on ABC. Be there!

AMC & OLTL Clean Up Their Acts

Prospect Park and The OnLine Network announced today that beginning with the Monday, June 24, broadcast of ALL MY CHILDREN, both that soap and ONE LIFE TO LIVE will no longer feature swearing.

When the two soaps made the transition from network television to the internet, they were able to explore subject matter that network censors might object to or limit their ability to tell fully (sex trafficking, open marriages). This also meant that the scripts for both soaps were peppered with various four-letter expletives that would never have been allowed on ABC. But it seems that Prospect Park is continuing to listen to feedback from the fans, and have determined that the cursing was off-putting for enough of the viewers that they're eliminating the strong language for the episodes from now on.

Of course, if you're one of those who didn't mind a little adult language, you can click here and watch a rather hilarious compilation of all the cursing in OLTL to date! Oh my!

Goldsberry's Getting Her Act Together!

ONE LIFE TO LIVE's Renée Elise Goldsberry (ex-Evangeline) is back on stage again! Broadway World is reporting that the actress will be starring in I'm Getting My Act Together And Taking It On The Road as the final show in the Encores! Off-Center presentation of the 2013 season in New York City.

The show, which debuted in the late '70s, is the tale of a former pop star (Goldsberry) who ditches the fluffy tunes she used to sing for a serious comeback supporting the burgeoning feminist movement. Goldsberry should be a knockout in the role, based on her performances in shows like The Color Purple, Rent and The Lion King.

In keeping with City Center's mission to make the arts accessible to all, the majority of tickets to the show will be just $25. However, it will only run for five performances, from Wednesday, July 24, through Saturday, July 27. For more information and to purchase tickets, click here!

Stause Settles In Salem

The character that Chrishell Stause is going to be playing over on DAYS OF OUR LIVES is still being kept very hush-hush, but the actress assures us that she's going to be very different than ALL MY CHILDREN's Amanda! "I'm really excited about the character," she tells In Depth, before adding, "which I can't talk about yet."

But even though DAYS is a whole new show, there are still some familiar faces that made her feel right at home. "I've known a lot of people through daytime events like Greg Vaughan (Eric) and Eric Martsolf (Brady)," Stause reveals. "I've known some of these people just from being in the same business."

Unfortunately, her role on DAYS means that she'll be unavailable to join the new AMC. "I knew this was something I was going to pursue," she admits. "But I love AMC. It will always have a place in my heart. I would never say no in the future, but for now it doesn't contractually work out for me."

AMC Uncensored!

Since moving to the internet where there are no network censors, ALL MY CHILDREN has been pushing boundaries, and you may have heard a little something about a rather racy scene between a couple of characters in the episode that went online on Wednesday, June 12. While nothing graphic was actually shown, some viewers were still shocked by the sexually suggestive scene. But what did Brooke Newton (Colby) and Robert Scott Wilson (Pete) think about shooting it?

"I'd never done an on-screen kiss in my entire life before coming to this show," confesses Newton. "I knew it was going to be a big challenge for me as an actress, so accept it and embrace it."

She also admits that she didn't speak with her co-star before shooting the scene. "Other actors talk about what they're comfortable doing and what they're not," Newton says. "I feel, as an actress, I just need to be the character. I can't put any limitations on myself."

"We had a very long day, both Brooke and I," Wilson adds. "It was about 9:30 at night. We started working at 8 am. We had a new director that day, who was great. We actually nailed that scene in one take!"

Despite the awkwardness, he says that the crew was very respectful, and he never felt uncomfortable at all while taping the sex scene. "We were both a little nervous," Wilson confides. "Once the scene started, we were completely out of our heads and had fun with it. I think it came across how we wanted it to."

If you're curious what all the fuss is about, you can watch that episode of AMC at this link... and then catch up on all the episodes you've missed since it debuted online!

Exclusive: GH's Anderson Speaks!

The rumors can now be laid to rest. Soaps In Depth caught up with GENERAL HOSPITAL's Bradford Anderson (Spinelli) at a pre-Emmy party in Beverly Hills and learned the real reason behind his new status as a recurring player.

"I've been on the show for seven years, and I'm still sticking around," he tells In Depth exclusively. "I'd just like to flex my creative muscles and dip my toe in the creative waters but still keep the fires burning at GH. I feel so incredibly lucky to be playing this character, to have created him and to see where the twists and turns of his development take him. Spinelli has plenty of adventures ahead. I'm here, and I hope you will be, too."

As central a character as Spinelli has become over the years, it's easy to forget that when Anderson first came aboard in November of 2006, it was on a recurring basis. It wasn't until six months later that the soap signed him to a long-term deal.

Is Franco In Shawn's Crosshairs?

GENERAL HOSPITAL's Morgan may have zippo luck when it comes to poker but it's Shawn who's not dealing with a full deck! For some unknown reason, he thought the best place to assassinate Franco was inside the courthouse, a place dripping with security. If he's going to be Sonny's new enforcer, he better start using his noggin or he'll be in jail faster then you can say, "You have the right to remain silent." Like Shawn, Carly is also staring trouble in the face. Although Sonny put the kibosh on the hit until the "perfect moment," Carly had that "you don't really think I'm going to listen to you" look on her face. A fired up Carly is an unpredictable Carly, and an unpredictable Carly is a trip to the E.R. for SOMEBODY!

While Franco's decimation was being discussed between Sonny and Carly, he was making himself right at home at the Quartermaine mansion, where Ava and Kiki tore him a new one, as they say. Ava threatened Franco; Franco threatened Ava. It was a love fest. Not. He was adamant about having a relationship with his daughter, whether Ava liked it or not. And she didn't. It got ugly... and loud.

Say what you will about Britt, but she's got beauty AND brains. Just when Ellie, Spinelli, Sabrina and Felix thought they had her painted into a corner, she threw the bucket of paint in their faces and made her way to the exit. But before she headed out the door, she was, "Oh, Patrick, the baby kicked!" Puh-lease. It's not like you can get mad at that baby... or that pillow... whatever it is under her shirt.

Lots of good stuff ahead this week on GH. Someone is on the receiving end of a bullet with Franco's name on it, romance is the hot topic between Patrick and Sabrina, and Felix puts Britt in her place! Don't forget: 2:00 ET and 1:00 PST/CT on ABC. Be there!

Who Are The Jeromes?

What's all this talk about the deadly Jerome family Mob? Here's a little recap of the terror they brought to town!

The Jeromes' place in Port Charles history dates back to the mid-late 80s. Reporters interrupted Duke and Anna's wedding with allegations that he helped cover up the murder of Edge Jerome of the notable Jerome crime family several years earlier. Although Anna left Duke, she couldn't stay away for long and they married.

The Jerome family name popped up again a couple of years later when Anna was kidnapped and Duke joined the "family" to utilize their contacts to find her. The family patriarch, Victor, helped Duke locate Anna, but at a price: Victor insisted Duke fill the role within the organization once occupied by his son, who took a bullet for Duke and died. Duke wanted out, but he was trapped in the Jerome family Mob.

Victor's daughter, Olivia, had the hots for Duke and tried to seduce him, but he was faithful to Anna, who was pregnant with his child. Rejected by Duke romantically and certain she would never fill the role in her family that Duke held, Olivia plotted to kill him. Her scheme, however, ended up injuring Anna and killing their unborn baby. She also set up an attack to kill her brother Julian, who faked his death. Olivia was confined to a mental hospital, was later released and then, thanks to a confession Anna got out of her, she was sent back again.

Victor, meanwhile, was sent to prison after Duke testified against him. He, of course, escaped and headed right off to see Lucy Coe, with whom he was obsessed. When she spurned his affection, he swallowed a pendant he engraved for her and choked to death on it. Julian took over the organization and was determined to neutralize Olivia by killing Duke and framing her for it. He set his scheme in motion by kidnapping her. When she heard that he was going to kill Duke, Olivia hoped to warn Anna. Julian, however, shot and killed her before she could do so. Later, Julian and Duke got into a fight and both were shot and killed. Or so everyone assumed. As it turned out, Duke was alive.

Could Julian have also survived? And what could Ava's true motives be? Stay tuned!

AMC & OLTL Going On Hiatus Early

The reported labor dispute between Prospect Park and the I.A.T.S.E. has led to The OnLine Network putting ALL MY CHILDREN and ONE LIFE TO LIVE on hiatus a little bit sooner than they'd earlier planned. Here is their statement in full:

As a result of a dispute with the I.A.T.S.E., The OnLine Network is beginning a long-planned hiatus for both 'All My Children' and 'One Life To Live' tomorrow instead of June 17. The hiatus is scheduled to end on August 12 pending resolution of this labor issue. Right now we have 40 episodes of each show ready to post through September, and if we can resolve this issue by August, we can get back into the studio on time so audiences will enjoy uninterrupted postings of their favorite shows.

We believe we have met all contract requirements with I.A.T.S.E, and as an internet start-up, and per our contract with the I.A., we cannot afford, and our business model cannot sustain, traditional broadcast rates.

The writers, directors, actors and rest of crew have been supportive of the shows and our success. Both 'One Life To Live' and 'All My Children' consistently earn top rankings on both Hulu and iTunes since launch just over a month ago. The popularity of the shows is matched by the continued passion and excitement from the fans. We are committed to these shows, and to the nearly 300 jobs they produce, thus we are exploring every legal and logistical option to maintain our production schedule.

You will note that they have already filmed enough episodes to continue airing AMC and OLTL uninterrupted through September on their current schedule. And this hiatus was already planned from the start, it's just beginning earlier due to the labor dispute. Hopefully they will be able to resolve these issues and resume production so fans aren't left in the lurch. We'll keep you up to date with any new information as it is released.

Just How Sick IS Luke?

GENERAL HOSPITAL's Luke Spencer, afraid? Who'd a thunk it? He was on death's doorstep during that nasty plague that hit PC a few years ago, had a broken back and was paralyzed in an avalanche, and suffered a heart attack and underwent a triple bypass, but his mortality has never been more in his face than right now. Learning he could have liver damage is more about avoiding the truth than denying it. Come hell or high water, Tracy will make sure he gets the tests and treatment needed because if it turns out his health is in bad condition and he didn't do something to fix it, she'll kill him!

So, how long do you think it'll be before Carly ends up in bed with Franco? Come on now. You KNOW she has a thing for bad boys. There was some sizzling hot sparks flying between them when she paid him a visit behind bars. He made it clear that he wanted to make amends. That could only mean one thing -- it'll be no time at all before they're playing footsy underneath a table at the Metro Court.

Apparently hysterical amnesia is an aphrodisiac because Lulu sure is frisky these days! Now that her memory is back, so is her "appetite." And we're not talkin' Olivia's sausage and peppers. If Lulu could carry a baby to term, she'd be making one right about now. That's good news for her, good news for Dante, but Milo, not so much. He ended his fantasy few weeks with his dream girl having scored only a single kiss... and a whole lot of screen time.

More good stuff coming up this week. Sonny and Carly make plans "to die for," Rafe becomes the most sought after teen in town, and Ellie makes a shocking discovery! Don't forget: 2:00 ET and 1:00 PST/CT on ABC. Be there!
