Congratulations to GENERAL HOSPITAL's Michelle Stafford (Nina), who has landed a role in the Kickstarter-funded film Durant's Never Closes!

The indie movie stars Tom Sizemore as ladies' man Jack Durant, and tells his story over a single day at the mysterious restaurateur's steakhouse. Stafford is playing Suzie, the love of Jack's life. Genzel's New Film Has Bite!

CarrieGenzelZombie.jpg

We've seen ALL MY CHILDREN's Carrie Genzel (Skye) play lawyers, federal agents, love interests, mothers and femme fatales, but in the new horror flick, Dead Rising: Watchtower, fans will see her in a scenario much closer to her own personality: She's hilarious! "It's based on a really successful series of videogames about a zombie apocalypse," the actress relates. "I play Susan Collier, the newscaster whom you'll see a lot in the movie, and Rob Riggle [MODERN FAMILY, THE DAILY SHOW, SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE] plays Frank West, the hero of the first videogame and one of my reporters."

While the fright fest continues in the outside world from which there are dire reports and updates about the flesh-eaters ("I have an exchange with Jesse Metcalf's [DALLAS, DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES] character, who's feeding me stories live from the quarantine zone," she reveals), in the newsroom, a totally different reality exists. "At the beginning of the film, when Frank comes in, she really thinks this is gonna be the interview that truly propels her career," Genzel previews. "But as they interact, he's a know-it-all, he's sarcastic, he's hitting on her... there's some really funny, candid moments where she just starts breaking down on camera."

Look for Genzel to begin reporting on all of the crazy zombie drama when the film begins streaming exclusively on Crackle beginning Friday, March 27, but you can watch a teaser trailer for it by clicking here. For information about the actress' other exciting projects, check out her upcoming Keeping Track feature in ABC Soaps In Depth on sale Monday, April 27.

GH Friday Recap: Introducing "Mrs. Jake Doe"!

JakeLizKiss.jpg

That was sure fast! In one 37-minute episode of GENERAL HOSPITAL, Elizabeth and Jake confessed their feelings for each other, had their first kiss, their first date and were just about to head up to her bedroom for their first "other stuff" when there was a knock on the door and, well, that was the end of their happiness! Just like that. We jest not. It went that fast. And the unexpected visitor wasn't the Avon lady, UPS man or kid wanting to paint Liz's address on her curb. It was Jake's "wife." Or, at least, a woman saying she was Jake's wife because we Jake's wife was actually Sam... but let's not go there just yet.

Over an unexciting game of Battleship in the Shadybrook rec room, Nina reaffirmed her commitment to Franco, saying she would never leave his side. Alexis and Scotty arrived with news of Nina and Franco's court appearances the following day. While Alexis strongly advised Nina to forget about Franco and drop the crazy act before her hearing, Scotty pointed out to Franco that if his condition didn't improve, he'd be remanded to Shadybrook for the rest of his life! Both Franco and Nina admitted to their counsel that they were faking, which brought up all sorts of other questions in Franco's head. Like, did he really want to be the reason Nina spent the rest of her life in a sanitarium?

Sonny gave Spinelli a lesson or two in boxing to prepare for his duel with Nathan in the ring. Sonny's advice: dodge Nathan's punches and hope he exhausts himself. Then, at the right moment, POW! Knock Nathan's lights out! Meanwhile, Maxie managed to get out of Dante that Nathan and Spinelli were duking it out. "They're having a prize fight and I'm the prize?" she asked Dante. Oh, she was not happy. She rushed to the boxing gym and, just as she walked in, Nathan delivered a knockout blow to Spinelli's face!

Lulu and Tracy arrived at Patricia's apartment but were surprised to see a young woman of color living there. She was Valerie, Pat's daughter. She regretfully announced that her mother, who, unfortunately, had passed away, never gave any indication that she had siblings. Tracy wanted to discuss the situation in further detail, but Valerie was not going to let that happen... because Fluke was inside the door, pointing a gun at her!

Silas checked in on Ava, who was growing weaker by the day. She was hoping for a positive progress report, but he was forced to admit that the chemotherapy wasn't fighting her aggressive form of cancer and her condition was worsening. To put it succinctly, the odds for survival were not in her favor. Hopeless and in agony, Ava cried out, "You wanna help me, fine. I'll tell you how you can help me -- you can kill me!"

Monday on GH: Jake and Liz don't know what to make of Hayden's claim, Maxie is horrified by Nathan's actions, and Ava tries to convince Silas that the right thing to do is to help her die with dignity! Don't forget: 3:00 ET and 2:00 PST/CT on ABC. Be there!

GH Friday Recap: Carly, A Relationship Coach?

CarlyJake.jpg

Carly is the best friend an amnesiac hunk recovering from brain surgery can ask for! She invited Jake to move into a spare room in her house to keep the illusion alive that he wasn't welcome at the Metro Court. And, like the fabu bestie she'll always be, she became his confidante about everything from his secret deal with Sloan that had him infiltrating the Jerome organization to all matters of the heart involving Elizabeth.

Front and center to witness an exchange of words between Jake and Liz peaked Carly's interest, so much so that she pushed him to talk about what was (and was not) going on with him and pretty Nurse Webber. He admitted that until Liz figured out what was going on between her and Ric, he had to just sit back and wait. Carly, in true Carly fashion, told him how she owed Liz for donating her son's kidney to Josslyn when she was younger, but then proceeded to warn him that Liz was in the habit of playing two guys against each other!

Liz had her own little drama with Ric, who all but got on his knees and begged her to take him back. She finally confessed that, yes, she had feelings for Jake. Although the news stung, Ric took it like a man, saying he understood but that it didn't mean they were through. She, however, felt differently. She fed him that "I will always care about you" line and then turned and walked away. It was not a pretty moment. Ric was left both devastated and fired up. "I'm not giving up on you that easy," he said to himself!

The Mob world was heating up. In fact, it was raging! Shawn's suspicion of Jordan was off the charts, even though she denied time and time again that she was not working for Anna. Liar, liar, pants on fire! Anyway, Shawn shared this belief about Jordan with Duke and Sonny. They agreed that if Shawn's instincts proved to be accurate, Jordan needed to be taken out. And they weren't talking about an early supper. But before they could act, they needed proof. That required testing her with a mission that, if she was a cop, she would refuse. That task: kill Julian Jerome! Little did Duke know that Julian had the same plans for him!

Anna paid a surprise visit to Sloan, who, like every man in Port Charles with nice pecs, answered his door in nothing but a towel. She was there to search his room and yank his chain. Although they supposedly hated each other, they certainly cranked up the sexual innuendos and invasion of personal space. He dropped the towel (intentionally) to show her he had nothing to hide. She still believed he tampered with the ballot box that got the mayor her job. "And what, exactly, did you think you'd find here?" he asked, looking down at his naked glory. "A hanging chad?"

Monday on GH, Anna grows increasingly concerned about Jordan, Carly encounters a riled Ric, and Sonny and Jake have words! Don't forget: 3:00 ET and 2:00 PST/CT on ABC. Be there!

Sean Blakemore Reopens The Fear Files!

Blakemore.jpg

No stranger to on-screen deception, Sean Blakemore (Shawn, GENERAL HOSPITAL) stars alongside Eva Marcille (ex-Tyra, THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS) tonight, Friday, March 13 at 8:00 p.m. ET, in the latest installment of Fear Files, a trio of thrilling tales on TV One. Sonny's right hand man reprises his role as Lockwood Masters, who, due to an accidental love potion overdose, cannot fight the urge to consume the one he loves!

While Marcille plays Blakemore's ex in this story, the actor says this was the first time the two performers ever met. "The chemistry was automatic," he happily shares. "When you're playing love interests, chemistry is so important."

Blakemore says that Lockwood differs greatly from his GH role in many ways. "Sean's like a Jason Bourne type, a mercenary," the actor says. "He does bad things for the right reasons. Whereas Lockwood is an everyday guy who just wants a normal life and a happy, healthy relationship."

The potion, however, changes everything. "He goes from 0 to 100 pretty quickly," Blakemore previews. "It gets to a point where Lockwood becomes a man with an extreme dark side."

Blakemore and Marcille's portion of the trilogy is titled "For The Love Of Lockwood Too;" the other two chapters are titled "Fire" and "Mama's Boy." So tune in tonight and enjoy some frights on Friday the 13th!

Big News For Maurice Benard's Fans!

MauriceBenardGal.jpg

GENERAL HOSPITAL icon Maurice Benard (Sonny) marked a major milestone yesterday -- he flew for the first time in years! "It's been 10 years since I've flown and I just landed in New York," the star tweeted. "WOW, it feels good to get that gorilla off my back!" As fans of the star know, Benard suffers from bipolar disorder (and is actually a spokesperson for the Depression and Bipolar Support Alliance) and claustrophobia and has long had a fear of flying.

After having not flown for several years, he got on an airplane back in January 2011 to head East for a family vacation to Florida's Disney World and several fan events -- but began to have a panic attack shortly before take-off. As Soaps In Depth told our readers at the time, Benard had been working himself up for several months leading to that particular trip because it had been years since he'd last been on a plane. Unfortunately, that day, he told his wife, Paula, he needed to get off and departed the aircraft with his family.

Since it's been more than a decade since Benard flew the friendly skies, whatever it is that motivated the daytime legend to get back on an airplane, it has to be huge, amazing news! And we promise you that as soon as we are able to share the details, we will let our readers know!

Long Live The QUEENS OF DRAMA!

QueensOfDrama.jpg

Vanessa Marcil (ex-Brenda, GENERAL HOSPITAL) is returning to soaps — sort of. The fan favorite is joining forces with a bevy of beauties from the soap world in the new original reality series QUEENS OF DRAMA, set to debut on Pop (formerly The TV Guide Network) on Sunday, April 26 at 10:00 p.m. EST before setting into its regular time slot on Wednesday, April 29 at 8:00 p.m. EST.

Joining Marcil in the 10-episode series are Donna Mills (ex-Madeline, GH; Abby, KNOTS LANDING), Hunter Tylo (ex-Taylor, THE BOLD & THE BEAUTIFUL; Robin, ALL MY CHILDREN), Crystal Hunt (Stacy, ONE LIFE TO LIVE), Lindsay Hartley (ex-Cara, AMC; Theresa, PASSIONS) and Chrystee Pharris (Simone, PASSIONS).

The women band together on the show in order to take control of their careers and produce and star in a new serialized drama so there's a "show" within the show. How much "drama" will be found in QUEENS OF DRAMA? "Everyone addresses their opinions in different ways," Marcil tells Soaps In Depth. "All of us have a different style in how we agree, how we disagree. We have big personalities in one way or another. In that sense, there's a lot of conflict that there is when you put any kind of project together."

Catch a sneak preview of QUEENS OF DRAMA in the following clip and watch for a dramatic appearance at the end by none other than Joan Collins (Alexis, DYNASTY; Alexandra, GL)!

GH Friday Recap: Guess Who's Dying?!

AvaAverySilas.jpg

Poor little Avery Corinthos was being yanked and tugged in every direction like a Stretch Armstrong doll. The good news for the cutie was that everyone wanted her -- Sonny, Ava and Michael. Forget that we're talking about a gangster, an assumed dead woman and a man using her for revenge.

After witnessing her own memorial service, Ava defied all logic by insisting on going on the run in the frigid New York weather with her bare-armed baby. Delia and Silas finally talked some sense into her, pointing out that a) there'd be a manhunt out for the baby's kidnapper and b) when she was caught, it'd be back to a prison cell!

All that said, Ava and Silas returned empty-handed to her NYC hospital room, where she insisted on hiding out in Port Charles, close to her daughters. "Why can't I think of a way out?" she wondered. "It wouldn't matter even if you did think of something," Silas answered. Ava turned and looked at him curiously. He continued, "You're dying." Say whaaaaaat?

Carly sensed something was off when they returned to Sonny's house after the custody hearing. He made it clear that no way, no how was he going to let Michael raise his child. With that, he called Morgan and told him that a private plane was waiting for him, Kiki and Avery at the airport. It would take them to his island, where Michael couldn't get his hands on Sonny's daughter. Carly pointed out that he was making himself, as well as Morgan and Kiki, kidnappers! It didn't matter to Sonny. He refused to surrender to Michael!

Meanwhile, Tracy told Michael how proud she was of him for pulling a few strings to get custody of Avery. Although he denied that he had anything to do with the judge swap, Tracy summed it up as "poetic justice." While Alice prepped the mansion for the new baby, Michael went to Sonny's with two U.S. marshals as backup. Once there, they realized Avery wasn't! Michael cut right to the chase and ordered they arrest Sonny!

In Shadybrook, it was a battle of lethal cuckoo birds when a tightly wound Franco approached Luke, who was strapped in a bed and saying all sorts of nasty stuff about Franco's dad, Scotty. Franco shut him up in true Franco fashion... by trying to smother him with a pillow! Nina barged in just to in time to prevent a fatality. Luke suggested they work together to bust out of the joint. Surprisingly, Franco loved the idea. Nina, not so much. But, we might add, he talked her into it!

Nathan walked in on Spinelli kissing Maxie but -- according to Maxie -- Maxie was not kissing him back. Spinelli begged to differ. Nathan was ready to pummel the Jackal but was interrupted by an alert on Spinelli's computer that he got a hit on the whereabouts of Patricia Spencer! He ran out in a flash to tell Tracy, leaving a disappointed Nathan questioning Maxie if it was time to end their relationship!

Monday on GH, Silas has devastating news for Ava, Michael takes his vendetta one step further, and Nina and Franco find themselves in a very bad situation! Don't forget: 3:00 ET and 2:00 PST/CT on ABC. Be there!

"I have never had a greater challenge, never had more fun and never felt so much a part of a family on a set," Wallace shares in a statement. "You do more in one day on daytime than you do in a week on an episodic. I couldn't have more respect for colleagues than I do now."

GH Friday Recap: Ava Is Alive!

AvaIsAlive.jpg

"For someone who's been shot, dropped off a bridge and nearly drowned, you're making a remarkable recovery." It was as if Silas was channeling the millions of TV viewers when he told that to Ava, as she lie nestled comfortably in a bed in New York Methodist Hospital. That action-packed day a few weeks back was both unlucky and lucky for her. Yes, that string of events did happen to her. On the other hand, she mustered up the strength to swim to shore, wobble her way to a phone and call Silas, who had been nursing her back to health ever since.

Ava was stunned to learn from Silas that Sonny was pardoned and, as a result of his freedom, had obtained custody of Avery from Kiki. If that wasn't bad enough, now Michael was in on the tug o' war for the baby! Ava wouldn't have it. She'd never allow little Avery to be a pawn in Michael and Sonny's battle. But there was a teensy problem. If she were to return to Port Charles to fight for her daughter, she'd be sent right back to prison!

While Kiki, Julian and Morgan attempted to peacefully co-exist so they could plan a memorial service for Ava, Avery's custody proceeding got underway. Michael took to the stand to tell the court why he believed he'd make a better guardian than Sonny. That was a pretty easy task, considering that under Sonny's watch, his children had been kidnapped and shot. "I will dedicate my life to my sister's upbringing," Michael told the judge, to which GH viewers around the country shouted at their televisions, "She's not your sister, Bozo!"

Meanwhile at Shadybrook, Franco got a surprise visitor -- Olivia. Franco, however, seemed clueless to her identity. "You're Mama Celeste from the freezer aisle," he smiled warmly. Nope. Actually, she was there to lend her support, as they had something in common -- she also endured an overdose of LSD courtesy of Heather Webber. She told him about her hallucinations, including that she saw the devil. "He was Australian," she said. Franco replied, "Satan should be from 'down under.' Get it?" As Franco babbled off in his own direction, Olivia babbled off in hers. In the midst, she mentioned that Julian was the father of her baby, thinking it was falling on deaf ears. But was it?

After Olivia left, Franco got one more visitor -- Nina. Earlier at her court hearing, she went bonkers when she saw Avery, insisting that the adorable tot was her and Silas' daughter. It was pretty clear that she was nowhere near sane, and she needed more time back in Shadybrook. Shortly thereafter, when she returned to the mental hospital, she wanted to see Franco. She crawled up on his bed and quietly revealed that she faked being crazy so she could be with him. He leaned close to her and said, "You want to hear something even more super awesome? I'm faking, too."

Monday on GH, Sloan wants to cut a deal with Jake, Julian is not happy with Carlos, Ric resorts to name-calling in court, and Nina gives Franco what he's got comin'! Don't forget: 3:00 ET and 2:00 PST/CT on ABC. Be there!

Dealing with the presumed death of her mother, Ava, and the threat of losing her baby sister, Avery, to the angry and bitter man she was madly in love with not so very long ago (we're talking about you, Michael!) is a lot to process for such a young girl. GH Friday Recap: Nik Banishes Helena!

LizNikHells.jpg

Helena hoped and dreamed that one day Nikolas would embrace his Cassadine instincts. Well, Helena, as they say, be careful what you wish for!

Liz must have torn off her surgical mask and latex gloves covered with Jake's blood, slapped on a coat, ran to the docks, and hopped on a boat for Spoon Island... just to tell Nikolas that Patrick successfully removed a chip from Jake's brain. Why she didn't just send him a text, who knows? Anyway, Helena looked more than a little worried to hear that Jake had not only survived the risky surgery but that as he lay on the operating table, he mentioned he knew who he was. Luckily for Helena, Jake went under the anesthetics before the big reveal!

After Liz left, Helena praised her grandson for not telling Liz that Jake was actually Jason. But Nik didn't lie to Liz to protect his grandmother. Quite the opposite. In fact, he made it clear that she had no leverage against him and no access to Cassadine money. With that, he had his minions cart her off to Cassadine Island forever more. Or, at least, for however "forever" means in soap lingo.

Over at GH, Alexis and Julian were staggered to learn that Olivia was pregnant. Julian, naturally, thought he was the father (and he was) but Ned jumped in and said that he was the dad-to-be. Alexis had her doubts. After all, Ned had done that same favor for her when Kristina was a baby and she didn't want Sonny to know that the baby was his. Ned and Olivia wove quite a tale of when "it" all happened and that they'd been sleeping together since Thanksgiving!

For the first time since being behind bars, "Good Luke" made an appearance and, the poor guy, panicked! By the time Tracy arrived to visit, he was totally freaking out. He had no idea why he was locked up but feared that something was very, very wrong. This time, Tracy believed him. She carefully told him that something that happened in his childhood triggered Bad Luke to emerge. The minute she inquired about what happened in that old house, Luke flipped and became angry and abusive. "I'm not afraid of you," Tracy said confidently. She was going to track down Luke's older sister, Patricia, and learn the secret of his tragic past!

If there's one thing better than seeing Nathan shirtless, it's seeing Nathan shirtless with whipped cream on his chest! A collision with Spinelli and a cup of hot cocoa outside Kelly's resulted in Nathan whipping off his shirt, showing Spinelli exactly what his competition looked like. When Nathan returned cleaned up, Spinelli laid it out on the table, telling Nathan what he felt for his baby mama.

At the same time, Maxie stopped by Lulu's with Georgie to discuss Spinelli's confession of love. When Maxie set Georgie on the floor to play with Rocco, the mommies said exactly what the audience was thinking: "Oh, my god. This is the cutest thing ever. Like, by far. They are epically adorable." Yup. That summed it up!

Monday on GH, Spinelli's confession becomes a topic of conversation, Nikolas' guilty conscience is talking to him, and Jake shares what he remembers! Don't forget: 3:00 ET and 2:00 PST/CT on ABC. Be there!

GH Star's Exciting New Role!

KathleenGati.jpg

There's good news and better news for fans of GENERAL HOSPITAL's Kathleen Gati (Obrecht). The good news is that she's about to film a juicy new part in an upcoming Web series. The better news is that doing so won't take her away from GH!

The folks behind the about-to-begin-production Web series WINTERTHORNE have tapped Gati to play the role of Valentina, described as "the power hungry sister of Joanna," who will be played by DALLAS alum Linda Gray.

Turns out Michael Caruso — the creator of both WINTERTHORNE and the popular Web soap DEVANITY — is a big fan of Gati's. "I'm always blown away by Kathleen's versatility as an actress," he shares. "She is absolutely committed to every role she takes on."

WINTERTHORNE is the saga of a candy empire ruled by women, including Martha Madison (ex-Belle, DAYS OF OUR LIVES), who stars as Miranda. It seems Miranda is keeping a secret that could destroy both the family and their business. Stay tuned for more news on the project...

GH Wins The Writers Guild Award!

CarlivatiWGAwin.jpg

Congratulations to GENERAL HOSPITAL headwriter Ron Carlivati and his entire team for their win this weekend in the Daytime Drama category of the Writers Guild Awards! (GH beat out DAYS OF OUR LIVES for the trophy.)

"It's hard to pick three shows that represent the whole year of what you've done," Carlivati confided to Soaps In Depth immediately following his win. "I like to find something thematic. So we used the death of Patrick and Sabrina's baby. The first one was a Nurses Ball episode where the baby was sick in the hospital. The second one was the baby actually died. The third one was when Sabrina had not accepted that the baby had died.

"There was some other wonderful stuff in those shows," he added. "There were some great Anna/Duke scenes. There were just some other stuff that made them shine, for me, which is why we chose them."

This is Carlivati's first Writers Guild Award, and he tells us he plans to keep it in his study where he works and writes.

GH Friday Recap: Olivia Learns She's Pregnant!

NedOlivia.jpg

Although love was most definitely in the air this Valentine's Day in Port Charles, no one's evening panned out exactly how they planned it. Old friends, new problems, big declarations of love and, oh, yeah, news of a baby on the way made Cupid's job more difficult than ever!

The fun began with the arrival of Olivia's chum from her Bensonhurst days. When "Mel" showed up out of nowhere to see "Liv," they greeted each other with a jubilant, loud screech and some ceremonial jumping on and down with joy. Did we mention it was loud? Anyway, the two old friends caught up, talking about everything from "under the bleachers" reputations to, of course, the state of Olivia's love life. She mentioned she was carrying a torch for Ned Ashton, to which Melissa shouted, "Oh my God! Eddie Maine?! Lois' ex?"

Unbeknownst to both women, Melissa's celebrity chef son was preparing a romantic dinner for Ned and Alexis at the Q mansion. Alexis' tardiness had him flashing back to seeing her in Julian's GH room. When she finally showed up, the tension could be cut with a knife. His admission that he saw her holding hands with Julian set her off on a "you're spying on me?" tirade which gave her reason to leave and return to, you guessed it, Julian. She sat at his bedside and admitted that she wasn't over him just yet.

Back at the mansion, Melissa rushed in to check on her son the chef and realized she was in the company of the man who was too blind to see that he and Liv were perfect for each other. What Mel said must've sunk in because he showed up at the Metro Court looking for Liv. His timing couldn't have been more awkward, as he walked in just as she was learning she was pregnant!

Spinelli and Georgie's arrival brought a gigantic smile to Maxie's face. She tearfully admitted they had an argument that she feared they'd never recover from. Prompted by that news, Spinelli dropped a bomb of his own, saying that Ellie broke up with him... because she believed he was still in love with Maxie! The thing was, Ellie was right! Opposite that, Nathan was grilled by an ADA about Johnny's escape and he admitted his girlfriend was partially to blame for that. Although it was obviously difficult for him to do, he played it down, lying that Johnny broke into Maxie's apartment and stole the cash and car keys.

Patrick was going to be late for his dinner date with Sam, but his colleague Derek stepped in. Sam and Derek chatted up a storm, with her, ultimately, urging him to make up with his girlfriend. When Patrick arrived, Sam greeted him with a kiss and all was well. Meanwhile, Lucas felt so badly for not responding to Brad's "I love you" with "I love you, too!" that he stood on the nurse's station counter and announced it to all who could hear!

Monday on GH, Olivia shares her news with Ned, Alexis has a confession to make, and Sonny receives a surprising document! Don't forget: 3:00 ET and 2:00 PST/CT on ABC. Be there!

Rebecca Budig Joins GH!

Budig3.jpg

As part of Fan February, GENERAL HOSPITAL is going to be full of surprises, and executive producer Frank Valentini and headwriter Ron Carlivati kicked things off by taking to Twitter to announce (with no small amount of teasing for the eager fans) that Rebecca Budig would be joining the show!

No stranger to daytime, after failing to land the role of Kelsey Jefferson on ALL MY CHILDREN, Budig went on to nab a three-year gig on GUIDING LIGHT as the second of four Michelle Bauers. But it was her 1999 debut as Greenlee Smythe that catapulted her to stardom. Teamed with Josh Duhamel as Leo, they soon became one of the soap's biggest supercouples. When she left AMC six years later to relocate from New York to Los Angeles, she had two Daytime Emmy nominations on her resume. After returning to the show for a year in 2008, she later signed on when production was moved to L.A. and remained until the series went off the air in September of 2011.

Budig is set to play a new character who Carlivati describes as "a real spitfire" and Valentini as a "Killer role." (Whether she'll turn out to be an actual killer isn't clear, but hey, this is GH after all!) "I can't wait to be a part of GH and to work with a group of very talented people!" Budig tweeted. We'll update you with more details on the character, when she's set to debut, and how long she'll be in Port Charles as soon as we get them!

What are your reactions to this surprise casting announcement? Who do you think she should play? Sound off in the comments!

GH Recap: Sonny Gets Away With Murder!

MichaelCarlySonnyDocks.jpg

Bombs blew up all over Port Charles, and not only was Sonny in no way responsible for them, he risked his life to save the lives of others. He was a hero, a label Michael was conflicted to acknowledge. Dante encouraged him to do what any other decent human being would do: tell Sonny "thank you"!

Sonny was recovering from the blast in a hospital bed, as Carly, Morgan and Shawn stood vigil. Morgan couldn't hide his anger that his father almost died and Michael was nowhere to be seen. Still weak from the happenings of the night before, Sonny tried to get Morgan to cool his jets and not judge his brother.

Across the bay on Spoon Island, Ivy walked in on Nikolas, and she was ready for a fight. Not only did he stand her up at the Haunted Star party, it was his grandmother who was to blame for the whole nightmare. As she stormed out, Lulu stormed in with a similar rant. Thanks to some poorly chosen words on Nikolas' part, her voice raised even louder when he let it slip that he knew of the bomb before it blew. "You're not the brother I thought you were!" she shouted.

Meanwhile, Helena and Fluke were in adjacent jail cells, looking to blame someone for their fate. Helena, however, had a "get out of jail free card" in the form of Sloane, who, along with Mayor Lomax , was in her back pocket. Sloane drove home the point that if he released them, suspicion would fall on him, which would cause a domino affect that would obliterate their plans. Fluke agreed. The only way for Sloane not to blow his cover was to let the investigation play out as it normally would... with the discovery of who Fluke really was!

Back at GH, Obrecht told Nathan she'd gladly assist in the investigation. "All the answers you seek about Luke Spencer will be found here," she said, whipping back a sheet to reveal charred bones. "Among his remains." After getting the okay from Sloane to continue with the investigation, she tested the bones to determine their age and Nathan ran Fluke's fingerprints through the police database. Shortly afterwards, she informed Tracy and Lulu that the bones had been decaying at least 20 years, so the corpse couldn't be Luke's. Nathan rushed in with news of his own. "The fingerprints of the man we have in custody are a match..." he said. "... for Luke Spencer."

While Kiki was getting word from Sloane that they called off the search for Ava and she was presumed dead, Dante paid Sonny a visit. "What you did, took that bomb from Michael and jumped in the water with it. Pretty impressive there, old man," Dante said. "I'm glad you're alive." He gave his father a long, tight hug, bringing tears to Sonny's eyes. Cops interrupted the moment to escort Sonny back to Pentonville. As he was being wheeled out, Michael arrived to see him, as did Ivy. She towed along with her her father, the governor of New York. "You acted selflessly and with great heroism," the governor said. "And because of your courage, I don't think you should spend another day behind bars."

Monday on GH, Sam loses sleep over Jake, Helena tries to swing a deal with Tracy and Michael reacts to the news that A.J.'s killer is going free! Don't forget: 3:00 ET and 2:00 PST/CT on ABC. Be there!
