EXCLUSIVE: Spinelli's Return Confirmed!

Bradford_Anderson64.jpg

It's official: A GENERAL HOSPITAL rep confirms exclusively for Soaps In Depth that Bradford Anderson will be returning as Maxie's baby daddy and Sam's P.I. partner, Damian Spinelli! When, exactly, that's happen is currently being planned.

When last seen, Maxie clearly chose Nathan as her hunka burnin' love, while Spinelli had an epiphany that Ellie was the girl for him. They returned to Portland with baby Georgie, leaving Spixie fans wondering if their favorite couple was, indeed, over and done with. It's easy to assume that his return will confront that issue... or if the timing is more in sync with the reveal that Jake is Jason!

ABC is keeping a lid on what's coming up next!

GH Friday Recap: A Heart-Wrenching Corinthos Moment!

SonnyCarlyMorgan.jpg

Ava was already down in the dumps when Morgan visited her in the PCPD jail. He didn't come bearing words of support, though. Nope. He told her it was over between them! She was, understandably, hurt but wasn't convinced he was following his heart. "Say it!" she demanded. "Say that never hearing my voice, never feeling my touch, turning your back on me forever is what you want!" He didn't say those words exactly but he meant them when he said he wanted a fresh life with Kiki. Ava's heart broke as she told him that she wanted them both to be happy, so she promised that her daughter would never know what happened about their fling. After Morgan left, Ava collapsed in tears on her bed. Julian showed up and broke the news to her that he couldn't get the flash drive with her recorded confession that she killed Connie. Hopeless and emotionally exhausted, Ava accepted her presumed fate.

Morgan's roller coaster ride of emotions looked far too familiar to Sonny and Carly. Their son was in crisis mode and on the brink of crashing. He was in need of help, not just from them, but also from a doctor. Sonny was concerned how Morgan was going to react to what they had to say but agreed that he needed talking to. They were going to call Morgan, but he unexpectedly stormed in, hyper, happy and hopeful now that he officially broke up with Ava. "I finally feel free!" he cheered. Morgan's manic state had his parents very worried.

Carly carefully suggested he see a doctor because of everything he'd been through lately. "You think I'm crazy?" he asked. Sonny answered, "Bi-polar." Morgan fought their every word, insisting that now that Ava was out of his life, he didn't need a doctor; he only needed Kiki. Sonny laid out the hard and painful truth as a man who had been through every emotional swing Morgan was going through. Still, Morgan wouldn't hear it. "Everything is fine. I'm good," he smiled and left in a hurry.

Meanwhile, Franco gently told Kiki what Silas was going to tell her the day he was murdered. As Franco put it, "Morgan and Denise/Ava, they were doin' the deed behind your back." Kiki refused to believe it, that is, until Franco said that Ava admitted it to him. Kiki blamed Franco for not telling her, and then she had a light bulb moment: "Morgan slept with my mother and killed my father to cover it up." She stormed out and went back to Silas' apartment for the first time. There was a cheerful knock on the door. It was Morgan... and Kiki was not happy to see him!

Arraignment or not, Nina was still on a high after exchanging "I love you's" with Franco. Alexis told her that all she had to do was say two words to the judge: not guilty. Nina did do as Alexis asked, but then added enthusiastically, "Franco's not guilty either!" Alexis, the judge and even Madeline tried to get her to shut up and sit down. But Nina insisted, "You're prosecuting the wrong man!" And Ric entered as if on cue!

Nina's bail was denied and her case not dismissed. After she was taken to lockup, Ric told Madeline that he was arrested and that he had the document she wanted so desperately. But he had one question. He wanted her to explain, how did she get Silas' signature on it? Gotcha, Madeline!

Monday on GH, Kiki has a few choice words for Morgan, Maxie considers Dillon's interesting career offer, and Madeline's got some explaining to do! Don't forget: 3:00 ET and 2:00 PST/CT on ABC. Be there!

Michael Easton Talks About Silas' Murder

MichaelEaston.jpg Michael Easton's exit as GENERAL HOSPITAL's Dr. Silas Clay didn't just take fans by surprise; it also caught the actor off guard! But being the classy guy he is, Easton is taking his dismissal in stride.

In the current ABC issue of Soaps In Depth, Easton opens up his reaction to finding out that Silas was being killed off, the petition fans have started in an effort to save the character and the talk of him joining another soap. "You do this over time and you get used to saying good-bye to people," he admits with a sad smile. "I'm not rushing into anything. I'm going to look to see what's out there, be patient and enjoy time with the family. And do a little writing to clear my head."

Geary's Dark Tale

GearyExit.jpg

Before leaving GENERAL HOSPITAL and Los Angeles for Amsterdam, Anthony Geary (ex-Luke) starred in a short film called The Obituary. The film tells the story of a struggling writer who pens obituaries for the local paper to make ends meet. But when he arrives at a man's home to collect information on a recent passing, he finds himself in a life or death situation of his own!

The Obituary has already been filmed, but the producers are trying to gather the money to distribute the film so that audiences can see it and perhaps even develop the short into a full-length feature film. You can visit the project's Indiegogo page by clicking here to watch Geary and the rest of the cast and crew talk about the film as well as see a short clip from it.

And then if you'd like to take part in a little moviemaking, you can donate to assist with distribution. Some donation levels come with rewards that range from Geary-autographed photos, posters and DVDs to producer credit or even lunch with the actors and director!

GH's Delia Sings!

IleneKristen.jpg

"Singing" on GENERAL HOSPITAL can sometimes mean ratting out the mob, but that's not the kind of tunes that Ilene Kristen (Delia) has been working on. The Emmy-nominated actress has completed her first CD titled I'm Not Done With U, now available on iTunes and Amazon.com.

"It's a collection of my own original songs, and I'm really excited to share this more personal side of myself with my friends and fans who've been with me through my career," Kristen says. "Of course, I love acting and soaps and stage, but music is where it all began for me, dancing backup starting at the age of 9 at the beach clubs in Long Beach."

Kristen adds that it was in Southern California where she was "bitten by the Latin groove, and over the years, jazz, rock and blues melded in, and the result is a sound and style that I feel truly represents me.

"I hope you'll listen to some of the tunes and decide to buy the album," she adds. "I'm really proud of it, and so delighted to give you the opportunity to share in my perhaps lesser-known but equally fervent passion for music."

You can check out Kristen's music on iTunes and Amazon.com!

GH Friday Recap: Brad and Rosalie Cooper? Huh?

BradRosalie.jpg

Lucas was clearly furious with Brad after learning he was already married. Brad wanted to work through it, but that wasn't going to happen if Lucas wouldn't even talk to him. A little later, Rosalie met Lucas and thought he was quite the looker. Who doesn't think that? Any way, she hit on him and his was response was, "Uh. Um." She asked, "What? Engaged? Gay?" Actually, all of the above, Rosalie. She was a wee bit surprised and made a hasty retreat. After she stepped out of the room, Brad stepped in. Then Rosalie returned. She looked at Brad; Brad looked at her. "Brad?" "Rosalie?" Yes, Brad was married to, of all people, Rosalie!

Hayden's condition improved enough that Patrick released her from GH. He asked her if someone would be taking care of her. Cue Nikolas and the ominous, foreboding music! Nik invited her to recoup at Wyndemere, which was an offer she couldn't refuse for many reasons. "If you can't trust a prince, who can you trust, right?" she asked. Oh Hayden, you can't trust a prince either, my dear. She smiled at Nik and thanked him, saying, "As soon as I get my memory back, I will not be your problem anymore." That might be true because, at that point, Nikolas will probably have her killed!

Valerie had Dillon helped her move out of Wyndemere so Hayden could move in. Dillon wasn't much of a Nik fan. He didn't understand how the man that once loved Emily so deeply could spit on her grave by seizing her family's company. It's okay, Dillon. GH viewers don't understand that either. Meanwhile, Lulu gave Dante the good news and the bad news. The good news was that she was going to be bringing in some extra income. The bad news was that she was going to be working with Dillon. After exchanging "I trust you" with each other, there was a knock at the door. Behind it: Olivia. She was back!

Jake stopped by Sonny's place and told Carly how he and Sam were working for Michael to find leverage to blackmail Nik into returning ELQ. "Excellent!" Carly said, flashing her pearly whites. But what really made her day was when Jake said that she was his best friend. That elicited a giant hug, at which time, of course, Sonny walked in. He warned her that Jake's mysterious past would inevitably spell danger down the road, and he didn't want her to get caught in the blowback.

Sam interrupted Liz's pensive state by bringing Danny over to meet Little Jake, a visit that gave Liz that "just sucked on a lemon" look. Sam and Liz introduced the tykes to each other, saying they were brothers because they had the same Daddy. Liz mentioned to Sam that she accepted Jake's marriage proposal, prompting a forced smile from Sam and a turn away while biting her lip. Definitely not a "woo HOO!" When Jake returned and after Sam left, Jake got down on bended knee and presented Liz with an engagement ring. She was thrilled, and he happily slipped it on her finger. Little did she know, their happiness was being threatened back at Wyndemere, where Hayden's memory was beginning to return!

Monday on GH, Brad explains his past to Lucas, Olivia updates Dante and Lulu about her baby, and Jordan interrogates Sonny about the increasing Mob violence! Don't forget: 3:00 ET and 2:00 PST/CT on ABC. Be there!

Jason Talks Sam... And Robin!

thompson.jpg Fans of GH's Patrick Drake are wondering if he's going to be the odd man out when Sam finds out that Jake Doe is actually her beloved Jason. Soaps In Depth sat down with the Emmy nominated Jason Thompson to talk about Patrick's loves, his losses and fan uproar over the Robin situation. The good doctor's life is in flux, indeed. But Thompson is taking his character's fate one day at a time!

"Patrick's life has been all over the place for the last two years," Thompson says in the current ABC issue. "So I feel like, within that, I'm able as an actor to make more rash decisions, in a way. On The Road To Recovery!

Paevey4.jpg

After seriously injuring his hand in a motorcycle accident (just as GENERAL HOSPITAL's recent three-week hiatus had commenced), Ryan Paevey (Nathan) tells Soaps In Depth that he's well on his way to a full recovery. "My doc is impressed with how quickly my tissue has mended," the actor reports. "All the 'road rash' is gone. The bones have fused, and my body's not fighting the metal. The surgical side is fine."

However, there are still a few obstacles to overcome. "My range of motion is still really limited," he confides. "It'll probably be a while before I'm on the bike or in the gym again."

Paevey credits his pal Mike Viruet, a trainer/nutritionist, with helping him heal. "He came over and totally re-hauled my refrigerator and prepared all these meals for me. He designed a plan especially engineered to aid in the recovery process. So it's pretty cool — I had three microwavable meals from a buddy for a while!"

The GH hunk is right-handed — which is the one he injured — so his life has gotten a little more complicated. "Elastic and I have become good friends," quips the performer. "Buttons are a nightmare!" The good news is that because Paevey's injury occurred at the beginning of GH's hiatus and his recovery has been going so well, the accident didn't have to be written into Nathan's storyline. "[GH executive producer] Frank Valentini was really supportive when I called him both after the accident and surgery. I told him I can't pick anybody up or punch anybody. But that's it."

The actor hasn't had to call in sick a single day of taping because of his rough spill, either. "If I miss a day of work then something is terribly wrong," he quips. "It's because I either don't know that I'm working or I'm dead!"

GH Friday Recap: Silas Is Murdered!

SilasCallsKiki.jpg

Friday's GENERAL HOSPITAL was a doozy!

Denise was still shaking from her encounter with Silas when Morgan returned. She told her boy toy that Silas threatened to tell Kiki the truth about finding them in bed together, and she was certain he'd make good on that threat. Morgan flew into a rage. Before Denise could stop him, Morgan rushed out, intent on stopping him!

Meanwhile, Nina was pleasantly surprised to see Franco in Shadybrook. He said he came because he never stopped loving her. She felt the same. Thrilled to be together again, they kissed. Franco was intent on getting her out of Shadybrook and was shocked to learn that Nina committed herself. She believed that Franco was right; that she kidnapped Avery. In fact, she was convinced that she had lost her mind because of her guilty conscience. Franco insisted that she was not the kidnapper because he knew who was -- Silas!

Franco told Nina the whole truth, everything from Silas kidnapping Avery to the fact that Ava has alive and trying to pull herself off as her long-lost look alike sister, Denise. Nina pretty much freaked out. She was furious that she continued to go to Silas for comfort, and he continued to lie to her so she'd go down for a crime that he committed! She tore out of the room in a furry.

Shortly thereafter, Franco arrived at Silas' apartment looking for Nina. The door was ajar. Franco slowly pushed it open. There, on the floor, he saw Silas in a pool of blood... and Nina kneeling above him with a giant knife in her hand!

Over at the Webber house, Elizabeth couldn't believe her ears. Laura revealed that she knew Jake was Jason and, after seeing how thrilled Monica was to realize her grandson was still alive, she deserved to know that her son was alive, too. And, as a mother, Laura was compelled to tell her! Liz begged her not to, at first just saying that Jake/Jason didn't remember anyone anyway; in the long-run it would just cause more confusion and pain for everyone.

Laura was unconvinced until Liz pulled out the heavy armor by saying that Nikolas could wind up in prison. Liz told her about Hayden and how all evidence pointed to Nikolas trying to kill her to keep her from revealing Jake's true identity. The news that her son would do that devastated Laura, but she wanted to hear it from Nikolas' lips that he had something to do with Hayden taking a bullet to the head. Again, Liz pleaded with her to not mention a word to Nik about their conversation. Moments later, Nikolas showed up at Liz's door. Laura took a deep breath and assured them both that she had decided to keep the information about Jason to herself.

Patrick told Sam the good news that Liz had decided to allow Danny and Jake to get together. Sam was, of course, thrilled. Just as she was leaving the hospital, she bumped into Jake. He told her Michael's theory that Hayden Barnes must have learned the truth about Jake from Nikolas. Sam was intrigued by the idea but wasn't sure how to prove it. Just then, Patrick stepped in with news: Hayden was awake!

Monday on GH, Morgan opens up to Sonny, Laura makes a surprising decision and Franco deals with Nina's latest conundrum! Don't forget: 3:00 ET and 2:00 PST/CT on ABC. Be there!

Kin Shriner Unplugged!

KinShrinerGal.jpg This week marks a big day for GH's Kin Shriner (Scotty). Four decades in daytime is a reason to celebrate, don't you think? For the current issue of Soaps In Depth, we sat down with the fan fave and talked about his rascally alter ego's past (and future) in Port Charles... and how he still keeps Scotty fun and fresh after all these years!

"Every time you leave, you do some other new stuff, because all actors shoot for the moon," Shriner admits. "Then, when they want you to come back and be that character again, you think, 'Sure, I can pump him back to life again.' When you get there, you gotta bring it. I come to the table with game. Those actors that I work with on GH, they all have game. They sometimes don't know what to make of my game, so they're on high alert," he jokes.

"They step up to bat and go, 'I don't know what Kin's gonna do, but I'm gonna have game, too!' There's nobody on GH that's not good. It's just how you rile them up at the time. If I stick my finger out at Maurice Benard (Sonny), believe me, he's going to bite it off! My game and his game. That makes the scene interesting."

In the 10-page special dedicated to Shriner, he shares his hilarious childhood connection to the legendary Lucille Ball, memories of those iconic early years on GH, and the person to whom he attributes the show's success. We also opened our files to find some old photos of Shriner that will surely put a smile on your face!

A while back, new co-headwriter of the soap Jean Passanante seemed to leak news of the actress' return, but now we've heard straight from the source!

"Finally!" Budig posted to Twitter. "I can now say I'm so excited to be at GH! Thank you all for your support!"

New Twist In Prospect Park Lawsuit!

ProspectParkLogo.jpg

In a new court motion, Prospect Park Networks has asked to convert its Chapter 11 bankruptcy plan to a Chapter 7 because they have been unable to pay the fees owed to their legal counsel, Jones Day, in the breach of contract suit against Disney/ABC over ONE LIFE TO LIVE. PPN had hoped that selling $6 million in tax credits it had received for filming the OLTL and ALL MY CHILDREN reboots in Connecticut would pay for the law firm to represent them in the $95 million lawsuit, but the proceeds weren't enough to keep Jones Day as their counsel or find a suitable replacement once PPN had paid off their largest claim holder.

"The best hope for a meaningful recovery to creditors is successful prosecution or settlement of the ABC litigation," reads the motion. "The debtor and the debtor's counsel have done everything to keep the ABC litigation alive for the benefits of creditors."

Under the Chapter 11 filing, PPN would have liquidated the estate, but the company's creditors bashed that plan, claiming that the disclosure statement failed to provide information about how the production company valued the contract suit with ABC (its primary asset) or how that litigation would be handled under the plan. Switching to Chapter 7 bankruptcy would effectively allow PPN to have their debts canceled. (However, PPN is requesting that a trustee be appointed as quickly as possible to oversee the ongoing ABC litigation.) Explaining in the motion that their revenue stream from Hulu is set to expire on July 31, rendering the estate "administratively insolvent because the outstanding and unpaid fees awarded to estate professional exceeds the amount of cash the Debtor has on hand."

GH Friday Recap: Luke And Bobbie Share Goodbyes!

LukeSuicide.jpg

A soft, wistful smile still lingered on Luke's face from his otherworldly chat with his dearly departed mother, Lena, when Bobbie walked in the old Spencer house on Elm Street. The gun on the table immediately concerned her, but Luke set her at ease. Although he had considered ending his life, he instead decided to leave Port Charles in search of his future. Bobbie agree that he needed to "find himself," but couldn't he do that without leaving town? The thought of not seeing him again brought her to tears. After they agreed to not say goodbye, but merely arrivederci, he kissed her on her cheek and she left. Luke turned back into the room and saw a young man. They sat and talk for a while, then Luke patted his teenage self on the shoulder and said, "Are you ready to hit the road? With that, together, they exited the Spencer house for the last time.

Laura ran into Scotty at the Metro Court and told him that she didn't run off on a romantic adventure with Luke, but rather they were rescuing Lucky, Ethan from Frank and Jennifer Smith. Scotty was thrilled that they also found Little Jake alive and well, but he was surprised to hear that Lucky left town, considering his son wasn't dead! Laura confessed that there was more to the story. And it was evident that she was itching to tell someone the secret. Scotty offered to let Laura unburden herself, and, boy, was she tempted to do just that! But before she could reveal what she knew, Bobbie interrupted and announced that Luke was leaving town.

Nathan and Maxie were just about to enjoy dinner when Madeline joined them at their table. Nathan introduced his "mother" to his girlfriend, which did not go well. Madeline felt the need to needle Maxie about tripping in front of the cameras on the Nurses Ball red carpet and how she must learn to make graceful entrances. Nathan was about to escort Maxie away when Madeline explained that she was worried about his sister. She detailed Nina's hallucinations and expressed her concern that Nina really did kidnap Avery. Madeline begged Nathan to keep an eye on her.

Meanwhile, Nina was in shock to find a crib in her hotel room. Upon closer inspection, there was a creepy doll covered with Avery's monogrammed blanket inside! Panicked, Nina ran into the bedroom just as Ric was in the hall, paying off a hotel employee to remove the crib. When Ric walked in the suite, music was blaring. Nina came out of the other room and was stunned to see the crib gone. Ric reached into his pocket, switched on the recorder with the baby crying and pretended he didn't hear it. Nina freaked and sank to her knees. After Ric calmed her, Nathan arrived to check on her. He didn't just see Nina; he also saw the blanket that Avery was supposedly found in when she was kidnapped!

Franco's arrival had Ava hopeful that he had found the taped of her confession in Scotty's office, but her partner in crime admitted that the D.A.'s office was surrounded by security. After prodding, he finally got her to admit that she had been hooking up with Morgan. A lot. "What kind of mother would sleep with her daughter's boyfriend?" Franco shouted. Yes, she hated lying to her daughter, but she and Morgan had an unbreakable connection. Franco had an easy solution: He would tell Kiki the truth!

Monday on GH, Luke says one final farewell, Franco makes a not-so idle threat, and Madeline tells Maxie exactly what she thinks of her! Don't forget: 3:00 ET and 2:00 PST/CT on ABC. Be there!

GH Headwriter Out!

Carlivati.jpg

GENERAL HOSPITAL headwriter Ron Carlivati has been let go from the ABC soap. The scribe had moved to GH, along with executive producer Frank Valentini, upon the cancelation of ONE LIFE TO LIVE in January 2012. During his tenure at OLTL, Carlivati's team won the 2008 Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Drama Series Writing Team.

Daytime veterans Shelly Altman and Jean Passanante have been named co-headwriters, effective August 10. "We are pleased to welcome back two esteemed writers to our GH family," said Vicki Dummer, executive vice president current series programming, in the announcement. "Shelly and Jean's combined talents and experiences promise to continue the show's legacy of compelling storytelling that will resonate with our impassioned viewers. We're delighted with what they have in store for the show as they continue honoring the rich, diverse environs of Port Charles."

Both scribes come to Port Charles with plenty of soap experience -- and Daytime Emmy Awards. Altman's writing credits include OLTL, ANOTHER WORLD and headwriter at THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS. She was previously co-headwriter for GH back in 2012. Passanante, who joined the GH writing staff a few months back, has held the headwriter or co-headwriter position at AS THE WORLD TURNS, Y&R, ALL MY CHILDREN and AW, and also served on the OLTL writing staff.

Joy For GH's Benard?

MauriceJoy.jpg

We don't usually pat ourselves on the back here at Soaps In Depth, but in this case, we might just have to. Being the eagle-eyed soap viewers that we are, we noticed a little something interesting while watching the trailer for the upcoming movie Joy, based on the life of housewife-turned-inventor Joy Mangano. During a shot in which Joy (played by Academy Award winner Jennifer Lawrence) is scrubbing the floor, there is a man on her television who looks remarkably like GENERAL HOSPITAL superstar Maurice Benard (Sonny)!

The movie, directed by David O. Russell and starring Lawrence, Bradley Cooper and Robert DeNiro, was shot in the Boston area, so that could tie into those tweets that Benard posted back in March about how he flew from Los Angeles to the East Coast for the first time in 10 years. We're thrilled to see the Emmy Award winner making his mark on the big screen, especially after his star turn in the critically-acclaimed The Ghost And The Whale.

You can see the trailer, which features Benard in two scenes, for yourself by clicking here. We'll share more information as we can dig it up before Joy's Christmas 2015 release date.

GH Friday Recap: Lucky's Reunited With His "Dead" Son!

LukeLuckyGallery.jpg

Finally, some good news on GENERAL HOSPITAL! Little Jake, the tow-headed, all-American nine-year-old boy that Lucky raised as his own with Elizabeth and was long believed to be dead was actually alive!

Luke wasn't sure what to make of Helena's story about Jake being snatched after he was supposedly run down in the middle of the street. All these years, Luke placed the blame square on his own shoulders as the man who killed his own "grandson" while driving intoxicated. But none of that was true. When Luke saw the boy playing in the main mansion on Cassadine Island, he wasn't sure what to believe. Was Helena just weaving a tale... or was it really Jake?

When Lucky arrived, all it took was one look to confirm the boy was who Helena said he was. Lucky was overcome with emotions and a little uncertain about what to do next. While Laura took Jake for a walk to tell him that they were heading back to Port Charles, where he was born, Luke and Lucky had a heart-to-heart. They shared their mutual admiration, respect and love for each other, as father and son who had been through it all. When Laura and Little Jake returned, they realized that the next step was to reunite Elizabeth with her son.

That day had already been a heartbreaking one for Elizabeth. Patrick gave Josslyn a clean bill of health, prompting a grateful Carly to embrace Liz and thank her for donating her son Jake's kidney that, ultimately, saved Joss' life years earlier. Although it was far from Carly's intention, Liz relived that horrible day when she had to turn off her son's life support.

When Liz got home, she was an emotional wreck. Big Jake (aka Jason) tried to easy her stress with a shoulder massage, but Liz's poignant cross with Carly at the hospital was something she just couldn't shake. Liz tried to camouflage her pain by telling [Big] Jake she loved him... and he responded in kind. Liz sat alone for a few minutes, allowing herself to cry. Then there was a knock at the door. It was Lucky... and she'd soon find out that their "dead" son was with him!

Carly stopped in to see Lulu and brought Rocco with her. Too many days had passed since Lulu had held her baby son in her arms, and she was thrilled that they were together again. Lulu set Carly straight about her non-affair with Dillon, the one that Dante erroneously told Sonny about. Lulu told Carly that she hadn't been screwing around with Dillon, she was off saving her brother's life! But in the midst of their conversation, Carly let slip that Dante kissed Valerie.

At the same time, Dante was filling Valerie in on the truth about Lulu's trip with Dillon and that her "affair" with her old flame was nothing of the sort. It was all a big, unfortunate misunderstanding. Dante wanted to make things work with his wife... and never let her know that he slept with her cousin. Valerie covered her pain and acceded to his request to keep their night together to herself, but it was more than obvious that she had fallen in love with him. When Dante returned home, he was completely unaware that he was walking right into a confrontation with his wife!

Monday on GH, Elizabeth receives some mindboggling news, Lulu has a few choice words for Dante and Monica has a reunion... with "Jason"! Don't forget: 3:00 ET and 2:00 PST/CT on ABC. Be there!

The Truth About Little Jake's Death!

JakeDeathStare.jpg

Even as fans of GENERAL HOSPITAL have been reeling from the news that Elizabeth's son, Jake, is alive, newer viewers have been left scratching their heads. Need the 411 on what the fuss is all about? Read on!

Elizabeth was in one of those places in her life where nothing was going right. She and Nikolas had been seeing each other, and the idea of exploring where that would go appealed to her. However, her wishy-washy ways caught up with her, and Nikolas decided that enough was enough. Ignoring his romantic feelings for Liz, Nik instead chose to pursue Brook Lynn.

With Nikolas out of the picture, Liz turned her attention to Lucky. But he, too, had moved on, with Siobhan. Liz was left facing the prospect of being alone... at least until she saw an opportunity to make her own happiness. After learning that Lucky was planning to marry Siobhan, Liz ordered up a paternity test which she hoped would prove that Lucky -- and not Nikolas -- was the father of her son, Aiden. She assumed that finding out the boy was his would bring Lucky running back to her.

The evening Liz received the paternity test results, it seemed as if everyone who was anyone in Port Charles was on the same road. Brenda and Sonny were leaving for their honeymoon; a buzzed Luke was rushing to Lucky and Siobhan's wedding; Carly was desperate to get an ailing Josslyn at the hospital; Sam briefly lost control of her car when she was hit with the after-effects of a concussion; and Lisa was in hot pursuit of Robin, who had found incriminating evidence against her.

Back at the Webber house, Liz opened the envelope to process the test results and what they would mean to her future. What she didn't realize was that the front door to the house was open and Jake was nowhere in sight. As she ran to the porch, she called out to him. But it was too late. He had run into the street and was hit by a passing car.

At the hospital, Liz and Lucky found it impossible to say farewell to Jake, and postponed turning off the machines. Liz angrily rejected Jason's request that they donate Jake's kidney to save Josslyn's life, but by end of day, the grieving mother had changed her mind. After talking with Lucky, Liz realized that saving a child's life was what was most important. As the shock of Jake's death set in, the news got even worse for Lucky. A police investigation showed that Luke had been the person responsible for running the boy down. Lucky confronted his father, asking if he was drunk that night. Luke insisted that although he'd had a little something to drink that night, he was in control, like always. Luke was in severe denial of the part alcohol played in the boy's death. Because there was no proof that Luke was impaired, no charges were filed.

GH's Paul And Little Jake Are Back!

BurgiNigbor.jpg

GENERAL HOSPITAL returned two characters to the canvas this week: Paul Hornsby and Jake Spencer. Veteran actor Richard Burgi (Chad, ANOTHER WORLD; Glenn, AS THE WORLD TURNS; Randy, ONE LIFE TO LIVE; ex-Phillip, DAYS OF OUR LIVES) made his debut on July 8 as Dillon's father -- and Tracy's ex-husband. The role was last played by Paul Satterfield from 1991-'94. Check out an upcoming issue of Soaps In Depth for our interview with Burgi -- and to find out what Satterfield had to say about the recast!

Then, in the July 9 episode, James Nigbor reprised his role of Elizabeth and Lucky's son, Jake. (The young actor had shared the part with his twin brother, Edward, back when they were tots.) As it turns out, he wasn't killed by grandpa Luke in that hit-and-run accident after all! While Lucky is Little Jake's legal father, the truck- and motorcycle-loving kid is the result of a one night stand between Liz and Jason. So expect the lad's return to further complicate matters for his mom as she struggles to keep Big Jake's true identity a secret!

What do you think about these GH returns? Let us know in the comments below!
