Alicia Minshew (Kendall) pays tribute to her three sisters
When ALL MY CHILDREN's Kendall Hart isn't busy plotting her next scheme, she can probably be found sparring with younger sis Bianca or newfound brother Trey. But her portrayer, Alicia Minshew, isn't used to bad blood between herself and her siblings. In fact, she holds each of her three sisters in the highest regard.
"We're so different in what we do," she shares, "but we all appreciate what the other one does."
The actress' oldest sister, Joann, is a bio-medical engineer — something that amazes Minshew. "She's finishing her last year in law school. She's incredibly smart. I'm like, 'Are you related to me?'" Minshew says with a laugh. "She always says to me, 'How do you memorize those lines?' But it's interesting how I'm so amazed at what she does. I'm like, 'How do you do those calculations?'"
Next in line is Allison, a behavior analyst who works with mentally handicapped children. "I don't know how she does it," says a proud Minshew. "She has more patience than anybody I know. It's amazing. Only certain types of people are cut out to do that. She's definitely one of them."
Last — but not least — is Amy, a yoga instructor. Despite a fondness for dying her hair purple, and having numerous tattoos and piercings, Amy — according to her sister — is really quite serene. "It's weird," points out Minshew of the youngest in the clan, "because she looks like she's all punk, but she's very peaceful and calm. I think it's great."
Although it sounds like she and her sisters aren't anything alike, Minshew quickly explains that all you have to do is look at them to see the similarities. "It's so funny. We all have the same body type and curly hair," she says with a smile, "so when you have all of us next to each other, you can tell we're sisters." Then, she adds thoughtfully, "The four of us are so close." — Colleen Humes
