 Star's Tragic Exit!

This Baker is done.
Amanda Baker's time with ALL MY CHILDREN as the recasted Babe Carey has come to an end. Baker — who took over the role from Alexa Havins in a single scene in 2007 — last airs on Thursday, October 23, when a tornado rips through Pine Valley. Prior to joining the cast of AMC, Baker was Jolene on the first season of SOAPnet's NIGHT SHIFT.

Kristen will kick off the fund raiser!
ONE LIFE TO LIVE's Ilene Kristen will perform at the first Soaps In the City celebrity fund raiser hosted by the Cops 4 Causes and POZ Magazine in association with Michael Fairman On-Air On-Soaps. The event serves as a kick-off to AIDS Walk Los Angeles weekend and benefits APLA (AIDS Project Los Angeles).

The biggest and brightest stars from the top daytime dramas will attend the event, and lend their support to the fight against the HIV/AIDS pandemic. On Thursday night, October 16, from 6:30-9 PM PST, at the hip East/West Lounge in West Hollywood, California, daytime comes out in full force for an evening of red carpet arrivals, special performances, cocktails, music by DJ ORA and a very special competition. Scheduled to appear are GENERAL HOSPITAL’s Kimberly McCullough (Robin), Megan Ward (Kate) and Carolyn Hennesy (Diane).  Look Who's Dancing!

Towers is getting her dancing shoes on!
GENERAL HOSPITAL’s Constance Towers (Helena) stars opposite Jason Graae in a revival of the Broadway and international hit play, Six Dance Lessons In Six Weeks, at the Falcon Theater in Burbank, CA. Directed by Arthur Allan Seidelman and choreographed by Kay Cole, it’s a comedy about a formidable retired woman who hires an acerbic ex-Broadway chorus boy to give her private dance lessons. But as the duo cuts a rug, they both learn some unexpected life lessons. The production opens Friday, October 31, at 8 p.m. and continues for five weeks.  Grand Dame Dies

Pine Valley has lost a confidant.
ALL MY CHILDREN veteran Eileen Herlie (Myrtle) died on October 8 in New York City of complications from pneumonia. The actress, who joined the cast of AMC in 1976, was 90.

Prior to her soap career, Herlie was a celebrated stage actress, who starred as Queen Gertrude opposite Richard Burton's Hamlet on Broadway. She later played the same role in the film starring Sir Laurence Olivier. Herlie also starred on Broadway with Ruth Gordon in The Matchmaker, with Jackie Gleason and Walter Pidgeon in Take Me Along, with Ray Bolger in All American and as Queen Mary in Crown Matrimonial. Herlie's other film credits include Freud with Montgomery Clift and The Seagull.

Herlie is survived by her brother, Alfred Herlihy, and her nieces and nephews.

 Super Soap Lineup Revealed!

Mathison has a date with Minnie Mouse for the final Super Soap Weekend.
31 stars from ALL MY CHILDREN, GENERAL HOSPITAL and ONE LIFE TO LIVE will appear at the 13th Annual ABC-SOAPnet Super Soap weekend. The event, which ABC has announced will be the last, takes place on Saturday, November 15, and Sunday, November 16, at Disney's Hollywood Studios at Walt Disney World Resort in Lake Buena Vista, FL.

From AMC, the actors attending are Cameron Mathison (Ryan), Rebecca Budig (Greenlee), Bobbie Eakes (Krystal), Melissa Claire Egan (Annie), Ricky Paull Goldin (Jake), Thorsten Kaye (Zach), Alicia Minshew (Kendall), Aiden Turner (Aidan) and Darnell Williams. Depending on her DANCING WITH THE STARS schedule, Susan Lucci (Erica) may appear as well.

From GH, Bradford Anderson (Spinelli), Brandon Barash (Johnny), Julie Marie Berman (Lulu), Tyler Christopher (Nikolas), Jason Cook (Matt), Rebecca Herbst (Elizabeth), Kelly Monaco (Sam), Kirsten Storms (Maxie), Jason Thompson (Patrick) and Laura Wright (Carly) will be on hand to meet and greet the fans.

Rounding out the list of stars are OLTL's Kassie DePaiva (Blair), Kristen Alderson (Starr), Brandon Buddy (Cole), Michael Easton (John), Farah Fath (Gigi), Susan Haskell (Marty), John-Paul Lavoisier (Rex), Erika Slezak (Viki), Jason Tam (Markko), Brittany Underwood (Langston) and Bree Williamson (Jessica).

ABC plans to make this final Super Soap Weekend one that fans won't forget, dedicating the event to the fans with special retrospectives of all three dramas, as well as memories of past Super Soap Weekends. In 2009, the ABC Daytime Division will embark on a Soap Nation Tour, featuring nationwide events designed to have more interaction with fans all year long, bringing more stars to more cities, more often.

Watch out, Revlon! Vanessa Marcil (ex-Brenda, GENERAL HOSPITAL) has been tapped to host Lifetime Television's new reality competition series, BLUSH: THE SEARCH FOR THE NEXT GREAT MAKE-UP ARTIST. Might she be getting tips from her new pals in the LIPSTICK JUNGLE to pass on to the contestants?

The hour-long, six-episode series will have contestants competing for a contract with Max Factor, a cash prize of $100, 000 and the chance to be the make up artist for an upcoming In Style photo shoot. The series will premiere on Tuesday, November 11, at 10 p.m. EST.

After months out of town, ONE LIFE TO LIVE's Viki heads home to Llanview on Monday, October 13 — marking the end of portrayer Erika Slezak's summer hiatus. "Viki is going to walk in at a critical moment with what's going on under her own roof," previews headwriter Ron Carlivati of the Tess/Todd/Tina/Natalie situation.

Bianca's new girlfriend is no stranger to ABC Daytime!
Eden Riegel is bringing Bianca back to ALL MY CHILDREN this fall, and she won't be returning to Pine Valley alone! No, it's not Zoe who comes back to town with her — it's GENERAL HOSPITAL alumna Tamara Braun! Riegel will first be seen on Friday, October 17, and Braun will follow on Thursday, October 20, in the contract role of Reece Williams, Bianca's girlfriend.  Ric – And Rick – Are Sticking Around!

Hearst has renewed his lease in Port Charles.
GENERAL HOSPITAL's Rick Hearst (Ric) has signed a new deal with the soap "to continue with GH for the forseeable future," says a show spokesperson. Earlier this summer, as his previous contract neared its end, Hearst spoke rather candidly about his feelings Ric and his hopes for his alter ego's future in Port Charles. Now that he's renewed his contract, it sounds like maybe some of those wishes may come true!
