He'll be one of the chatfest’s rare male co-hosts — the last was Mario Cantone in 2007 — and he’ll be on hand to help co-host Whoopi Goldberg celebrate her birthday. Guests include Steven King and Kool & The Gang. So what are you waiting for? Celebrate good times, come on! Check local listings for air time.
Rambin And Company Returning!
Put away the red, Pine Valley!
What a day for ALL MY CHILDREN fans! Right after news of Julia Barr’s return as Brooke broke, SoapNet.com reports that Pine Valley alumni Eva La Rue (ex-Maria, Leven Rambin (ex-Lily/Ava), Eden Riegel (ex-Bianca), Laurence Lau (ex-Greg) and Taylor Miller (ex-Nina) will be back, as well! Everyone will appear on Tuesday, January 5. So exciting!
Barr's Back!
Barr will raise the bar for AMC's 40th.
This just in: Julia Barr will return as Brooke during ALL MY CHILDREN's 40th anniversary episodes in January!
Barr's publicist confirms that the show just approached the actress in the past few days. "I was very happy to be invited to participate in AMC’s 40th anniversary show," Barr says in a statement. "I look forward to the taping and to seeing old friends. I am particularly glad for my fans, since I know how much they miss Brooke!"
Brooke may never have officially left Pine Valley, but she hasn't been seen since Barr parted ways with the soap in 2006. An AMC rep had no comment on Barr's return.
Mathison Stars In New Soap!
Mathison cleans up his act on Bay.
ALL MY CHILDREN’s multitasker Cameron Mathison (Ryan) has yet another gig: Brighten Bay, a Cheer detergent advertising campaign in soap opera form. According to Reuters, Mathison will play Bay’s do-gooder, Dr. Dan. The campaign also includes a sweepstakes for a trip for two to Los Angeles. “Daytime dramas have long been a guilty pleasure in America,” Mathison says in a statement. “What I love about Brighten Bay is that it's a fun and clever campaign, but also — just like a real soap opera — it aims to connect with women and give them something to look forward to each day, helping to brighten up their routines.” Keep up with all the good, clean fun at www.brightenbay.com.
Minshew Gives Birth!
Minshew's baby was expected to arrive closer to Thanksgiving, but the Herschenfelds aren't complaining!
ALL MY CHILDREN's Alicia Minshew (Kendall) and husband Richie Herschenfeld welcomed daughter Willow Lenora Herschenfeld at 6:42 a.m. on November 4, a little more than a week after their first anniversary. Willow weighed in at 5 pounds, 2 ounces. Congratulations!
No Binks For You!
Riegel won't be back.
ALL MY CHILDREN fans’ hopes for Bianca were dashed when portrayer Eden Riegel announced today that she isn't returning to AMC when the soap moves to Los Angeles. “Hey Guys, not-great news to share. Looks like it isn't going to work out for me going back to AMC when they move out to LA. I'm very sad...” she posted on Twitter. What are your thoughts on the matter? Head over to the In Depth message boards and have at it!
Vasi's Man Put A Ring On It!
Vasi's going to be a Mrs.!
ALL MY CHILDREN’s Denise Vasi (Randi) is going to be very busy in the next few months… planning her wedding! The actress got engaged to boyfriend Sevan Arslanian, a diamond wholesaler — ooh, can’t wait to see the ring! — this past weekend and announced it on her Twitter feed. The pair met over a year ago at the birthday party of a mutual friend. Congratulations!
Hayley & Mateo Come Home!
Will there be a happy homecoming for Hayley and Mateo?
Today, ABC announced that real-life couple Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos will reprise their roles as Hayley and Mateo Santos for ALL MY CHILDREN's 40th anniversary episode, which will air on Thursday, January 4 and Friday, January 5, 2010. Both actors left the soap in 2002 after having met and married during their tenure. And as a special treat, Ripa's daytime talk show, LIVE! WITH REGIS AND KELLY will air an exclusive first look of the couple's return to Pine Valley in November.

ALL MY CHILDREN's Stephanie Gatschet (Madison) hopes fans will join her at Free To Breathe, a 5K run/walk on Sunday, November 1, in Philadelphia that supports lung cancer research. "My mom is a lung cancer survivor" and an organizer of the event," the actress tells Soaps In Depth. "Anyone is welcome to register and walk with us that day!"
To sponsor Gatschet or her team — Gatschet’s Gang — or to register to participate, go to www.freetobreath.org for more information.
Clothes Encounters!
These ladies will handle their affairs in style.
This month, fashion retailer, New York & Company will once again outfit the entire female cast of ALL MY CHILDREN. As the ladies of Pine Valley endure the ups and downs of daily life, they'll be wearing fabulous fashions. The clothing company first teamed up with the soap last March. If you'd like to know which items are available for purchase, go to: www.abc.com and click on the Shop button, then the "Seen On" section of the AMC page.
The Real Greenlee Returns... Again!
Greens is a go!
Budig backers, you’ve gotten your wish: A rep for ALL MY CHILDREN confirms that Rebecca Budig will return to the role of Greenlee later this year!
Though the soap had no first airdate for the returning actress, she is likely to begin taping in New York before AMC moves to Los Angeles in December.
Budig created the role in 1999 and left in 2005 before returning last year and leaving around the time Bianca and Reese got hitched.
As for the presumed-dead Greens, we never saw her body, and Ryan ID’d her remains based solely on her one-of-a-kind engagement ring, so it was only a matter of time before Greenlee returned to Pine Valley, right?
And it’s not exactly like AMC headwriter Charles Pratt Jr. has been able to hide his enthusiasm for bringing Ryan’s ex back to the canvas. “From the moment that Greenlee rode the motorcycle in her wedding dress off the cliff, as I said, this is not the end of the story,” he told In Depth a few months back. “This is the beginning of a story.”
Most Of Pine Valley Moving West!
Lucci is packing her bags!
ALL MY CHILDREN just wouldn’t be AMC without Susan Lucci’s Erica Kane — and now it won’t have to.
Moments ago, the show announced that original cast member Lucci and several others are confirmed to stay with the soap when it relocates from New York to Los Angeles at the end of this year.
Lucci told the Associated Press she will commute to the set and maintain her residence in New York.
Some notable absences from the regular cast include Ray MacDonnell (Joe), who is retiring. MacDonnell is the only other original cast member who has been with the soap since its first episode in 1970.
The fate of fan favorite couple Kendall and Zach is up in the air; Alicia Minshew (Kendall) will be on maternity leave starting in November, and Thorsten Kaye (Zach) has chosen not to relocate to Los Angeles.
According to SoapNet, there's no word yet on Kaye's last AMC airdate.
Also according to SoapNet, details about Chrishell Stause (Amanda) and her involvement with AMC were forthcoming.
Cast members who will stay with the show inclue: Brittany Allen (Marissa), David Canary (Adam), Bobbie Eakes (Krystal), Melissa Claire Egan (Annie), Stephanie Gatschet (Madison), Ricky Paull Goldin (Jake), Vincent Irizarry (David), Shannon Kane (Natalia), Michael E. Knight (Tad), Jamie Luner (Liza), Adam Mayfield (Scott), J.R. Martinez (Brot), Cameron Mathison (Ryan), Debbi Morgan (Angie), Cornelius Smith Jr. (Frankie), Denise Vasi (Randi), Darnell Williams (Jesse) and Jacob Young (JR).
Friday, December 11, will be AMC’s last day of taping in New York.
