You want to talk teamwork for a good cause? Twelve GENERAL HOSPITAL stars are joining forces to build a house for one very deserving family! The cast is partnering with Hollywood For Habitat For Humanity in a project called “The House That GH Fans Built,” in which loyal viewers are given the chance to join the actors as they raise the funds and the walls for a home in Los Angeles this holiday season. GH fans are encouraged to contribute through donations and online auctions and by leaving personal messages for the family that will move into the home upon its completion. Among the actors participating at the private Saturday, December 12, event are: Lexi Ainsworth (Kristina), Bradford Anderson (Spinelli), Brandon Barash (Johnny), Julie Berman (Lulu), Jane Elliot (Tracy), Nancy Lee Grahn (Alexis), Lisa LoCicero (Olivia), Ronnie Marmo (Ronnie), Nathan Parsons (Ethan), Kristin Storms (Maxie), Jason Thompson (Patrick) and Dominic Zamprogna (Dominic). Details on the event can be found at www.habitatla.org/gh. Plus, check back in right here on Monday, November 9, when we’ll tell you how 12 lucky Soaps In Depth readers will win a chance to build along side their favorite actors!
Meet Hearst, See Art!
Hearst will host the charity event.
Rick Hearst (ex-Ric, GENERAL HOSPITAL; Whip, THE BOLD & THE BEAUTIFUL) and several of his B&B castmates will appear at a benefit for Children’s Hospital Los Angeles’ arts therapy program on Sunday, November 8. The event will take place from 6 to 8:30 p.m. at Nic’s Restaurant And Martini Lounge, 453 North Canon Drive, Beverly Hills, CA. Cost is $75 per person; tickets are available at the door. The evening, which benefits the hospital’s Healing Arts Reaching Kids program, features special martinis by Pinky Vodka, a cocktail party, live action, raffle, music, hors d’oeuvers and original art.
The Marrying Man!
Zamprogna is off the market.
Congratulations to Dominic Zamprogna (Dominic) who married his fiancée, Linda Leslie on Sunday, November 1. The couple tied the knot during an intimate ceremony above Hollywood in Griffith Park.
Mystery Woman Invades Port Charles
A GENERAL HOSPITAL rep confirms that the soap has cast British actress Marsha Thomason as a yet unnamed mystery woman who will play opposite film star James Franco when he debuts next month. Thomason most recently had a recurring role on LOST and also played Nessa Holt on the NBC series, LAS VEGAS for two seasons.
Livingston's Leaving Port Charles!
Nikolas loses yet again!
Sad, but true: Natalia Livingston (Rebecca) is leaving GENERAL HOSPITAL. This is super fresh, so we don’t have a ton of details on when or why, but a show rep confirms it’s a done deal: The Emmy winner is on her way out!
Livingston returned to GH in January as Rebecca, a dead ringer for Nikolas’ dead love, Emily. It was no coincidence: Livingston took over the role of Emily from Amber Tamblyn in 2003 and played it until May 2008.
"We were thrilled that we were able to get Natalia back for a second run, after her Emmy-winning turn as Emily Quartermaine," GH says in a statement. "The character of Rebecca Shaw will soon depart the canvas and Natalia has decided to pursue other projects. A beloved member of the GH family, the entire cast and crew wish her well in all her future endeavors."
In a statement released exclusively to In Depth, Livingston thanks her co-workers and her fans. "I leave GH with a sense of pride and fulfillment. I adore and have so much respect for all my cast mates, Brian, Jill, Bob, all the writers, producers, directors and crew. GH has been a second home to me and I embark on this next chapter of my life with optimism and excitement," she says. "Most of all, I want to thank all of the fans that supported me every step of the way. You guys are truly the best."

Reeves Joins GH!
Reeves will still write and record country music while on GH.
First Elizabeth gets the return of her true love’s first portrayer, now she gets her brother back, too! Scott Reeves (ex-Ryan, THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS) will be GENERAL HOSPITAL’s new Steven Lars Webber, a GH rep confirms. (The character hasn’t been seen since Shaun Benson left in 2005.) Reeves will show up in December as the hospital’s new chief of staff and will have storyline with Liz, Lucky and Nikolas. The part is recurring. In real life, Reeves is married to DAYS OF OUR LIVES’ Melissa Reeves (ex-Jennifer).
Springfield On Ice?
Springfield's given name is Richard Lewis Springthorpe.
GENERAL HOSPITAL’s Rick Springfield
(ex-Noah) joins fellow music legends REO Speedwagon to provide live accompaniment for a star-studded cast of Olympic, World and National figure skating champion performers in the two-hour cable television premiere of HOLIDAY CELEBRATION ON ICE. Olympian Brian Boitano and friends will be ringing in the season by sending their silver blades slicing through the ice to the wail of the 80s rockers’ electric guitars! The entertaining special, which is part of the Hallmark Channel’s holiday countdown, airs Monday, December 7, at 8 p.m. EST.
Andrews Answers The Call
Andrews is nabbing the bad guys once again.
Réal Andrews is back in uniform! He played Sonny’s nemesis, hard-nosed Detective Taggert, on GENERAL HOSPITAL. Now, catch him on NBC’S LAW & ORDER: SPECIAL VICTIMS UNIT when he guest stars as Sgt. Jordan, a U.S. Army recruiter who raises Stabler’s (Christopher Meloni) hackles by trying to recruit his son. The episode, entitled “Turmoil” is set to air Wednesday, November 11, at 9 p.m. EST.
James Franco Joins GH
Will Franco's appearance usher in Marcil's return?
What’s even better than a movie star joining GENERAL HOSPITAL? The possibility of him bringing a fan favorite back with him!
On Twitter last night, a fan asked Steve Burton (Jason) whether Spider-Man’s James Franco was joining GH… and if he was bringing Vanessa Marcil (ex-Brenda) back with him! Burton, who shares a manager with Franco, answered, “Franco is… don’t know about Vanessa.”
Elsewhere in the Twitterverse, THE BIGGEST LOSER trainer Jillian Michaels — who also happens to be Marcil’s best friend and godmother to her son, Kassius — told fans that she was having dinner with Marcil. When a fan told her to pass along the audience’s love, Michaels later tweeted, “She said James Franco is doing 2 months on the show and she would consider going back for that time to work with him.”
We hear that Franco will work one day a week on the GH set, taping several shows on that day. A source says that Franco “wants to do everything.” Might his character be linked to the new Cassadines flooding Port Charles?
A GH rep confirmed that Franco's first airdate is Friday, November 20.
Brown To B&B!
Brown barely has down time between gigs.
Sarah Brown’s last day playing GENERAL HOSPITAL’s Claudia is Thursday, November 5 — and her first day playing THE BOLD & THE BEAUTIFUL’s Sandy Sommers is Friday, November 6! A GH rep confirms published reports that Brown is switching soaps and that ABC allowed the actress an early exit from her contract, which was set to end on Thursday, January 14. She signed a two-year agreement with B&B; production of the two soaps will overlap for a week only.
“I’m thrilled with the way they’re doing it,” Brown tells the Associated Press of her GH exit. “It pays off for the audience and in a good way for all of us.” Sandy reportedly will be involved in Nick, Bridget and Whip’s B&B storylines. Brown's no stranger to CBS, having played AS THE WORLD TURNS' Julia from 2004-05.
