ONE LIFE
TO LIVE:
Do you think OLTL should have killed off Jared?
Heck no! He was so important to the Llanview canvas. I'll miss him.
Of course! He wasn't my favorite character, and it created dramatic story.

 Can Röhm Play Hero?

Röhm was born in Germany.
Back in the late '90s, Elisabeth Röhm was launching her career on ONE LIFE TO LIVE by playing Dorothy Hayes, Mel’s idealist daughter who had an ill-fated relationship with Joey Buchanan. Having since made a name for herself as ADA Serena Southerlyn on NBC’s LAW & ORDER, now she’s returning to the Peacock network beginning Monday, November 2, for a multi-episode arc on HEROES. But this new character’s love life isn’t any less complicated. Soaps In Depth caught up with the actress at the Long Beach Comic Convention. “My character is [CIA Agent] Lauren Gilmore; she’s partners with Jack Coleman’s character [H.R.G.] they’ve done something similar professionally,” she teases, adding, “We’re similar — minus [his] glasses!" As the storyline is bound to take a few unexpected twists and turns, Röhm is excited about being on board for it. “It’s a privilege to work with such amazing people; the writers, producers and actors are all so smart,” she offers. “That’s another reason I’ve admired Sci Fi so much: It requires a certain intelligence to do it, to be in it, and to appreciate it. I’m very excited to be doing HEROES because of that.” Röhm never forgets her loyal fans, who continuously root for her success. “I have a real love and respect for the sci fi fans and the soap opera fans who’ve followed me from [OLTL] to LAW & ORDER to [today],” she says. “I feel really lucky about that.” HEROES airs Mondays at 8 p.m. EST.

Soap Is Staying On The Air!

There's still LIFE left.
Despite reports that ONE LIFE TO LIVE is going to be canceled next year, a rep for ABC Daytime issued the following statement: "The only upcoming move ONE LIFE TO LIVE is making is to the ALL MY CHILDREN stage after that series relocates to Los Angeles. This will give ONE LIFE TO LIVE more room and increase their production value."

Tognoni Brings Kelly Back To Llanview!

Dorian's niece is back!
As if hearing that Dan Gauthier is returning later this fall as Kevin wasn’t enough, a rep for OLTL just dropped the exciting news that the sudser has also snagged Gina Tognoni (Dinah, GUIDING LIGHT) to return as the Buch’s wife, Kelly! Having originated the role in 1995 — it was taken on by Heather Tom, who now plays THE BOLD & BEAUTIFUL’s Katie — the two-time Emmy winner was reportedly in talks with the show about a return after news of GL’s cancellation rocked the soap world earlier this year. While those contract negotiations hit a snag, a rep for the show confirms that this time around, news of Tognoni’s return is official! While Gauthier’s alter ego is scheduled to appear later this fall, the rep says that Kelly, who moved to London in 2006 to work on her marriage with Clint and Viki’s son, is set to return early next year. “It’s a good role, and they’ll look for someone to fill it eventually,” Tognoni has told Soaps In Depth. “So [it would be] wonderful to go back!”

 Mystery Man Returns To Llanview!

Will Born find new LIFE?
A past baddie is returning to the OLTL canvas very soon! While the identity of said villain is being kept under wraps, our sources report that it’s Roscoe Born’s Mitch Laurence. Other rumors making the rounds are that the returnee might be Thom Christopher (ex-Carlo) or Paul Satterfield (ex-Spencer). A rep for the show had no comment.

 Gauthier Reprises Role!

Will Viki get a chance to see her son?
ONE LIFE TO LIVE confirms that Dan Gauthier will return to the soap this fall as Kevin Buchanan. But the actor's stay will be brief, since he is only slated to appear for a few episodes. Gauthier played the role for three years, last appearing on the show in November 2006 when Kevin moved to London.

 Vet Renews Contract!

We'd elect Viki for mayor any day!
Whew! According to her official website, ONE LIFE TO LIVE's Erika Slezak (Viki) has signed a new contract with ABC! "I am very happy to be remaining with OLTL for the next few years," she shares, "and am looking forward to good stories and lots of fun."

 AMC Alum Switches Soaps!

Lowry left AMC in 2000.
Former ALL MY CHILDREN star Michael Lowry (ex-Jake) is headed to Llanview! A spokesperson for ONE LIFE TO LIVE confirms that Lowry will join the soap on a recurring basis later this summer playing "someone from the past." Any guesses who it could be? Since leaving AMC, Lowry has also appeared as AS THE WORLD TURNS' Les and THE BOLD & THE BEAUTIFUL's Dr. Hillman.

UPDATE: Look for Lowry to make his debut as Ross on Friday, August 28.
