AMC Meets HOT IN CLEVELAND!

Tags:

ALL MY CHILDREN’s Susan Lucci (Erica) is returning to the TV Land’s hit sitcom HOT IN CLEVELAND, and this time, she’s bringing her soap co-horts Michael E. Knight (Tad) and Darnell Williams (Jesse) along for the ride as ABC Daytime and TV Land join forces for an unprecedented network crossover between the two shows! The event will continue the sitcom’s storyline of a bitter rivalry between soap icon Lucci and washed-up diva Victoria Chase, played by Wendie Malick.

Lucci, Knight and Williams will play themselves in the two-part CLEVELAND episodes, airing Wednesday, February 16, and Wednesday, February 23, at 10 p.m. EST. Then on Thursday, February 24, Malick — as Victoria — will appear on AMC as Gertie, a housekeeper who ends up moonlighting as a ConFusion bartender after being fired by Erica Kane. “We are thrilled that Victoria Chase will join the cast of AMC — there are very few actresses who could pull off a dual role performance as both a maid and a bartender. We hope she is up to the challenge,” teases AMC Executive Producer Julie Carruthers. Adds ABC Daytime President Brian Scott Frons, “There is only room for one Erica Kane in Pine Valley, and Victoria Chase will unfortunately find that out the hard way.” All joking aside, Frons says that the crossover “is a unique opportunity to raise awareness of both shows with similar demos, and we expect each other’s viewers to follow from one show to the next.”

On CLEVELAND, Victoria’s claim to fame is that she was the first soap actress to tackle three roles at once during her heyday on (fictional sudser) EDGE OF TOMORROW and, no doubt, the diva will be thrilled to land another daytime gig. “We’re so happy that Victoria Chase will finally get to show AMC fans why she is a soap superstar,” says TV Land President Larry W. Jones. “We’re so excited to partner with AMC to bring to life this classic TV form when television worlds collide.”

Season Two of HOT IN CLEVELAND debuts on Wednesday, January 19.
