AMC’s Barr Gets Her Vogue On!

Tags:

ALL MY CHILDREN’s Julia Barr no longer gets the pleasure of jumping into Brooke’s shoes and judging Erica, so she’s doing the next best thing: Judging a fashion competition! Following her stint last year as part of the Born Free USA’s fffashion contest, which helps up and coming designers get exposure via fur-free designs, Barr is once again jumping on board as a judge in the competition. “When I said yes, it made everyone happy, including myself!” says the Emmy-award winning actress, adding that animal welfare has always been something dear to her heart. “I’ve always loved everything having to do with animals. I’ve grown up with them and had them in my homes as companions for years. And I’m like the dog rescuer in our neighborhood — it’s so bizarre!”

And Barr isn’t alone in her support of all things animal related: Joining her as judges in the competition are actress Victoria Principal (Pamela, DALLAS), red-carpet host Melissa Rivers, designer Elizabeth Emanuel and Tony Award-winning costume designer Marina Draghici. “I’m excited to be a part of this with them,” the actress raves of her Born Free counterparts. “It’s all about compassion and awareness in fashion more than anything, and I think people will think twice about what they wear and what they put on their face, and what happens to the animals.”
