For decades, Linda Dano had been beloved by fans for her portrayal of strong women like ONE LIFE TO LIVE's Rae Cummings and ANOTHER WORLDS' Felicia Gallant. However in her personal life, she's long been appreciated for her tender dedication to the work of HeartShare Human Services Of New York, a non-profit organization that serves the needs of children and families affected by autism and other developmental disabilities. "The centers that we maintain are filled with dedicated teachers, volunteers and people who've become passionate about helping those children," offers Dano, who serves on the board of directors.
In honor of HeartShare's 100 years of service to the community, a spring gala and auction will be held on Thursday, March 27, at the New York Marriott Marquis. At the event, past recipients will gather to be honored as a group as part of the centennial celebration. Among them will be familiar faces from daytime TV like Rosie O'Donnell, John Edward, THE VIEW's Barbara Walters and Bill Geddie, ALL MY CHILDREN's Susan Lucci (Erica) and Cameron Mathison (Ryan), GENERAL HOSPITAL's executive producer, Frank Valentini, AS THE WORLD TURNS' Tamara Tunie (Jessica), and ONE LIFE TO LIVE's Robert S. Woods (Bo).
"It's a very exciting night," Dano enthuses. "I'm so looking forward to it!" For information about attending the event, click this link to visit the Web site or call (718) 422-3210.
