Don’t Miss GH’s Anniversary Episode!

GENERAL HOSPITAL will celebrate its 52nd anniversary on Wednesday, April 1 — and the very special episode promises to be a jam-packed hour! The soap will take a trip down memory lane by recreating scenes from the original GH broadcast, which aired on April 1, 1963. In those special scenes, characters from the first episode will be played by current cast members as Jason Thompson (Patrick) takes on the role of Dr. Steve Hardy, Rebecca Herbst (Elizabeth) portrays Nurse Jesse Brewer and Ryan Carnes (Lucas) appears as Dr. Phil Brewer.

“For all fans that love GH, this is an episode you will not want to miss,” says executive producer Frank Valentini, who will live-tweet that day using the hashtag #GH. “We will revisit that night on April 1, 1963, and expand the story, shedding new light on the past and addressing questions that GH fans have been dying to have answered.”

Chief among those questions is the truth about what it is that happened to Luke (played by GH icon Anthony Geary) all those years ago that caused his mental break. Look for guest star Dee Wallace‘s Patricia to provide Luke, Bobbie and the rest of the Spencer family with some long-awaited answers.
