Egan To Exit!

Tags:

Call it a trifecta of ABC Daytime exits. On the heels of the news earlier this week that both GENERAL HOSPITAL’s Rebecca Herbst (Elizabeth) and ONE LIFE TO LIVE’s Brittany Underwood (Langston) have been let go from their respective soaps, Melissa Claire Egan has announced that she’ll be exiting ALL MY CHILDREN after four years of playing Annie.

The actress announced on her Facebook page and on melissaclaireegan.com that “After 4 and a half incredible years as a member of the AMC cast, I have made the extremely difficult decision to leave the Pine Valley family that I have come to love and respect so much… But after much soul-searching, I feel that it is time to spread my wings and open myself up to new challenges and adventures.”

Egan joined the soap in 2006. There’s no word yet on when her character will leave Pine Valley. “I can’t begin to tell you how much I appreciate your support and encouragement over these past four plus years,” Egan told her fans in closing. “You have inspired me to give my all to the “complicated” character of Annie Novak McDermott Lavery Chandler Chandler (hehehe, it’s always fun to say that), and I hope to have lived up to your expectations. You will always hold a special place in my heart, and I hope you will wish me well in my future endeavors!”

Egan will last air on Monday, March 21.
