GENERAL HOSPITAL’s Carolyn Hennesy Stars in ‘Master Class’

Tags:

Actress Carolyn Hennesy is no stranger to playing strong female characters. Her role of take-no-prisoners attorney Diane Miller on GENERAL HOSPITAL is just one of them. And now she’s going to be starring in an upcoming production of the play Master Class as legendary opera soprano Maria Callas! “It’s official,” Hennsey shared on Instagram. “I can announce. What a role!” And she even shared a photo of herself in costume during rehearsals.

Written by Terrence McNally, the Tony Award-winning Master Class puts the spotlight on the artist known as La Divina. Maria Callas motivates her Julliard students to deliver the performances of their lives, while also revealing what makes this woman tick. The show is scheduled to premiere on Friday, Sept. 22, for a five-week limited run at the newly formed nonprofit Garry Marshall Theater in Burbank, CA. For more information and to purchase tickets, you can click here. Hennesy also shared a photo of herself with the show’s director, Dimitri Toscas, and in the background, you can see a small model of the stage’s set.

Hennesy joined GH in the recurring role of Diane back in 2006, and was nominated for the Outstanding Supporting Actress Daytime Emmy Award in 2010. She took home the gold for Outstanding Supporting or Guest Actress in a Digital Daytime Drama Series in 2017 for her work on THE BAY. She has also made an impression on viewers with her roles on COUGAR TOWN and TRUE BLOOD. And while GH fans haven’t seen a whole lot of Hennesy lately, if they’re in the Burbank area next month, they can see her delivering another one of her powerful performances live on stage!
