Romance for Anna and Valentin? — Finola Hughes Speaks Out! (EXCLUSIVE)
Ever since Duke died on GENERAL HOSPITAL, Anna has been without a love in her life. Some fans enjoy her with Andre, but others can’t get enough of the chemistry she shares with Valentin! Sure, Anna is currently battling cancer, but the love of a good man would certainly help with that fight. So who does portrayer Finola Hughes think could be Anna’s Mr. Right — or at least Mr. Right Now?
“We certainly haven’t found one at this point,” she admits to Soaps In Depth. “So I don’t know. Anna really trusts Andre. And there is a great friendship there. However, he also is with one of her good friends. So that’s kind of a no-go situation at the moment.”

But keeping Andre in the friend zone because of his feelings for Jordan is nothing compared to… well, whatever is really going on between Anna and Valentin Cassadine!
“Valentin is a whole other kind of deck of cards,” Hughes smiles. “He’s known from her history. And I don’t think they have a very good history together. I think there are some very dark skeletons in those closets. So that is a story that is going to have to be teased out and unraveled.”

Not to mention that Valentin is currently married! While Nina just desperately wanted to be a mommy, and Valentin needed a wife to create an instant family to secure custody of his daughter, Charlotte, their marriage of convenience shows every indication of transforming into a very real one.
“There is no way that Anna is going up against Nina right now!” Hughes laughs. “And Nina seems to be quite ensconced with Valentin. So I think that is something for the future. At least find out what their history does hold. Because I think that is quite intriguing.”
Is Anna doomed to remain single forever? In a soap opera, that seems highly unlikely for such a dynamic, beautiful woman. But fans will just have to stay tuned to see which man winds up finding a place in her heart!
