Fans of GENERAL HOSPITAL were super excited when Nicolas Bechtel teased his return as Spencer Cassadine, and even more so when on-screen grandmother Genie Francis (Laura) backed him up!

On March 8, Bechtel tweeted to Francis, “See you soon?” to which the daytime vet responded, “A little bird told me I might be seeing you soon. Well, actually a big bird, a really big bird…”
While the first thing we thought of when she said “big bird” was SESAME STREET, we’re really hoping she’s talking about GH’s executive producer, the very tall Frank Valentini. Just a month ago, Bechtel visited Valentini at the GH studios, but neither of them let slip whether the visit was social or business.

Recently, Bechtel was feeling a little homesick for Port Charles, Tweeting a photo of Spencer’s hospital bracelet from when he was horribly burned in a dangerous fire at Wyndemere.
“An unforgettable storyline,” he said. “I was so fortunate to have had that opportunity. Missing my GH family.”

Bechtel has been keeping busy since leaving GH, with a role as young Rob Kardashian in the acclaimed AMERICAN CRIME STORY and starring as Lewie Diaz in Disney Channel’s STUCK IN THE MIDDLE, which is currently in its second season.
But GH fans would love to see Spencer back in Port Charles, especially if it means bringing Tyler Christopher back as his father, Nikolas!
You can see why Bechtel loves coming home to GH based on these wonderful photos he’s taken with his castmates who he clearly adores!

"Not everyone gets a chance to work with someone like this guy," Bechtel wrote. "He's funny and kind and just an all around great person. I love how every time I see him he says, "Heyyyy. What's going on?" I am grateful for every chance I've had to work with you, Maurice Benard (Sonny)."
