GH Friday Recap: Ava Resorts To Blackmail!

Denise DeMuccio? As if! No, Silas knew better that the woman underneath that thick accent and dark dye job was Ava. After his persistent pressuring, she finally stood up and shouted, “Of course I’m Ava!” Then she added confidently, “And there’s not a damn thing you can do about it.” She instructed him to keep his mouth shut unless, that is, he wanted the rest of the world to know that he kidnapped her baby daughter.

But what she didn’t know (until Silas told her) was that there was a rather large kink in her master plan. She was under the assumption that she was free and clear because a DNA test proved she wasn’t Ava. Silas, however, begged to differ. “If they decided to swab the inside of your cheek for your DNA, you’d be royally screwed,” he pointed out. “You have Avery’s bone marrow. That’s true,” he said. “So your blood carries a different DNA. But the rest of you — your skin, your saliva — that’s all Ava Jerome.”

At the end of the day, Michael was just about to put Avery (A.J.) to bed when there was a knock at the door. It was Denise — make that Ava — staring adoringly at the baby in his arms.

Ava’s scheme worked; Franco’s did not. He had enlisted Nathan into his ruse by saying that Nina confessed to kidnapping Avery and if she didn’t sign papers to annul her marriage to Ric, she’d be tossed in jail. She appealed to her brother’s integrity and then called their bluff. “Want to arrest me?” she asked. “Put on the cuffs. Shut up and do it.” Nathan realized that what they were doing was a huge mistake. He wasn’t going to stoop to Franco’s level on this one, and he let her go.

Everything was underway for Luke and Tracy’s engagement party on the Haunted Star. Lucy showed up thinking she was officiating a wedding, but was pleasantly surprised that she was a guest. She lent Lulu a hand calling guests to the last minute gathering. Carly, Sonny, Bobbie, Scotty, Dante and Valerie were all at the Floating Rib celebrating Lucas and Brad’s engagement with them. Scotty was not pleased to see Sonny a free man, furious that the mobster would never be brought to justice. After bringing up his daughter, Karen’s, addiction to drugs while working in Sonny’s strip joint 20 years earlier, Scotty took a swing at him (and missed badly).

The entire gang later showed up to the celebration on the Haunted Star. As the engagement party was about to begin, Dante and Lulu were clearly intimidated by the presences of Dillon and Valerie, respectively, and Luke and Sonny’s mended relationship was reaffirmed. Considering everything that had happened over the last year, he was surprised anyone would want to be with him, let alone on that boat! He turned to Tracy and said she stared down his darkness and dragged him kicking and screaming into the light. He asked everyone to raise their glasses to toast her. “The woman who saved my life,” he said. “My best friend, my strongest ally, and my life’s partner. The woman I love.” Then, as if on cue, Laura walked in!

Monday on GH, Ava wants to see “A.J.,” Silas tells Nina that he thinks she’s innocent, and Laura announces she’s in town for Luke! Don’t forget: 3:00 ET and 2:00 PST/CT on ABC. Be there!
