GH Friday Recap: Introducing “Mrs. Jake Doe”!

That was sure fast! In one 37-minute episode of GENERAL HOSPITAL, Elizabeth and Jake confessed their feelings for each other, had their first kiss, their first date and were just about to head up to her bedroom for their first “other stuff” when there was a knock on the door and, well, that was the end of their happiness! Just like that. We jest not. It went that fast. And the unexpected visitor wasn’t the Avon lady, UPS man or kid wanting to paint Liz’s address on her curb. It was Jake’s “wife.” Or, at least, a woman saying she was Jake’s wife because we Jake’s wife was actually Sam… but let’s not go there just yet.

Over an unexciting game of Battleship in the Shadybrook rec room, Nina reaffirmed her commitment to Franco, saying she would never leave his side. Alexis and Scotty arrived with news of Nina and Franco’s court appearances the following day. While Alexis strongly advised Nina to forget about Franco and drop the crazy act before her hearing, Scotty pointed out to Franco that if his condition didn’t improve, he’d be remanded to Shadybrook for the rest of his life! Both Franco and Nina admitted to their counsel that they were faking, which brought up all sorts of other questions in Franco’s head. Like, did he really want to be the reason Nina spent the rest of her life in a sanitarium?

Sonny gave Spinelli a lesson or two in boxing to prepare for his duel with Nathan in the ring. Sonny’s advice: dodge Nathan’s punches and hope he exhausts himself. Then, at the right moment, POW! Knock Nathan’s lights out! Meanwhile, Maxie managed to get out of Dante that Nathan and Spinelli were duking it out. “They’re having a prize fight and I’m the prize?” she asked Dante. Oh, she was not happy. She rushed to the boxing gym and, just as she walked in, Nathan delivered a knockout blow to Spinelli’s face!

Lulu and Tracy arrived at Patricia’s apartment but were surprised to see a young woman of color living there. She was Valerie, Pat’s daughter. She regretfully announced that her mother, who, unfortunately, had passed away, never gave any indication that she had siblings. Tracy wanted to discuss the situation in further detail, but Valerie was not going to let that happen… because Fluke was inside the door, pointing a gun at her!

Silas checked in on Ava, who was growing weaker by the day. She was hoping for a positive progress report, but he was forced to admit that the chemotherapy wasn’t fighting her aggressive form of cancer and her condition was worsening. To put it succinctly, the odds for survival were not in her favor. Hopeless and in agony, Ava cried out, “You wanna help me, fine. I’ll tell you how you can help me — you can kill me!”

Monday on GH: Jake and Liz don’t know what to make of Hayden’s claim, Maxie is horrified by Nathan’s actions, and Ava tries to convince Silas that the right thing to do is to help her die with dignity! Don’t forget: 3:00 ET and 2:00 PST/CT on ABC. Be there!
