Kin Shriner Celebrates 41 Years on General Hospital!

Happy anniversary to Kin Shriner, who debuted as Scotty Baldwin on GENERAL HOSPITAL four decades and one year ago. We can’t imagine Port Charles without the cantankerous lawyer!

Shriner joined the cast of GH back in 1977 and has come and gone from the soap multiple times over the years, often to take roles on other daytime dramas. Although in 1997, he returned to playing Scotty, but on GH’s sister soap, PORT CHARLES. However, in 2000, he moved back to GH. After a brief stint from 2007-08, Shriner returned in 2013 and has played Scotty regularly since then.

Shriner was the sixth actor to take on the role, and when he first took over, Scott was a respectable young man with a promising law career. But after his marriage to Laura fell apart when she left him for Luke Spencer, Scotty revealed a darker side to his personality and became a liar and schemer. He found true love with Dominique Stanton and was devastated when she died. Scott did try again with Laura, and they were briefly married before he finally gave her up because he couldn’t compete with her love for Luke.

Scott has lost two of his four children. Karen, his daughter with Rhonda Wexler, died when she was hit by a car, and Logan, his son with Jaqueline Hayes, was killed by Lulu in self-defense when he attacked her. However, Serena, his daughter with Dominique (with Lucy acting as surrogate), recently returned to Port Charles for a visit, and his son with Heather Webber, Franco, is still hanging around causing trouble occasionally.
