Lucci Heads To CLEVELAND This Week!

Be sure to tune in to HOT IN CLEVELAND this Wednesday, February 16, for the start of an unprecedented multi-network crossover event when ALL MY CHILDREN’s Susan Lucci (Erica) returns to TV LAND’s hit comedy! On the show, the daytime icon will appear once again as a parody of herself, rival to washed-up former soap goddess Victoria Chase (played by Wendie Malick). “My character has always loathed Susan because she has won the Emmy and I never did,” says Malick. “In the show, I thought I was being offered this wonderful star tun in this death scene, where she then sabotaged it to the degree where she took away my fabulous dying speech. My monologue. My soliloquy. And not only did she do that, but then she had my head wrapped in bandages. Eventually, even my mouth so that I couldn’t even make a noise.”

In the two-part HOT IN CLEVELAND episode titled “I Love Lucci” — which continues on Wednesday, February 23 — Lucci’s AMC co-stars Michael E. Knight (Tad) and Darnell Williams (Jesse) also guest star. “It was very funny for me to walk onto the set of HOT IN CLEVELAND and see what they re-created,” reveals Lucci. “It was a very recognizable AMC hospital set. Working with these talented, really warm and gracious actresses was so much fun. Working in front of a live audience reminded me of the theater. It was so much fun.”

Then, on Thursday, February 24, the ABC soap returns the favor and plays host to Malick when she — as Victoria — plays a character named Gertie Stein. “I’m looking for a job, and get a call that I’ve been offered something… a housekeeper job,” previews Malick. “I show up at [Erica’s] house and then recognize her. I have a real sassy little mouth on me, so I end up getting fired. And then later on, I reappear as a bartender.”
