ONE LIFE TO LIVE’s Eddie Alderson Finishes His Cancer Treatments!

Tags:

Back in November of 2016, ONE LIFE TO LIVE star Eddie Alderson (Matthew) revealed that he had been diagnosed with lymphoma cancer, and now six months later, the young actor has finished his final chemotherapy treatment!

“Today marks the end of my six month chemo journey,” Alderson shared on Instagram. “While it was hard at times, I never once bowed down to it. I took it head on, and the people in these pics have been by my side every step of the way, along with many other people.

“This isn’t the end of my journey,” he continued, “but I’m happy as hell right now. If cancer has taught me anything, it’s that family and good friends are truly all that matters in life. Don’t ever forget that. #NoSurrender”

Alderson also expressed his gratitude to his fans who continued to support him throughout this journey. “I want to thank all of you who have written me every single day without fail,” he tweeted. “You all have kept me strong, and I thank you and love you all.”

His on-screen mom on OLTL, Hillary B. Smith (Nora), was delighted to hear the news, posting to Twitter: “Reel momma is so proud of you! So happy this is behind you! Love you so much!”

The actor’s sister, Kristen Alderson (ex-Kiki, GENERAL HOSPITAL; Starr, OLTL) was proud of her sibling and shared a photo to thank Philly Pretzel Factory for the box of pretzels to commemorate Eddie’s last chemo treatment. The pretzels spell out “Ring that bell,” which is traditionally what cancer patients do upon finishing their final treatment.

Kristen is also hoping to raise money for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society and has asked fans to visit her donation page to help contribute to blood cancer research. “Everyone wins when cancer loses,” she declared. “And thanks to your support, my efforts will help fund the therapies and treatments that save lives, not someday but today. On behalf of blood cancer patients everywhere, thank you for your support!”

Eddie and Kristen Alderson are super-close siblings, and you can see just how strong their bond is in the special family photo gallery below!

Our best wishes to Eddie for continued good health in the future.
