ONE LIFE TO LIVE’s Patricia Elliot Has Died

Patricia Elliott, ONE LIFE TO LIVE’s beloved Renee Buchanan, has passed away.

ABC News is reporting that the actress died Sunday of cancer at her home in Manhattan at the age of 77.

Elliott won the Tony Award for best featured actress in 1973 for her Broadway debut as Countess Charlotte Malcolm in Stephen Sondheim’s A Little Night Music. She also earned another Tony nomination for The Shadow Box in 1977, and starred opposite David Bowie in The Elephant Man.

But daytime audiences will remember Elliot best as Renee Buchanan, the ex-madam who journeyed to Llanview and reconnected with ex-lover Asa. Though they had ups and downs over the years, divorcing and re-marrying, Renee was by her cowboy’s side when he passed away in 2007.

Elliott is survived by her niece, Sally Fay, an aunt, Claudine Walker, and several cousins. Our sympathies go out to all her friends and family at this difficult time.
