GENERAL HOSPITAL gave a fun shout-out on its 51st anniversary episode which aired on Tuesday, April 1 to a fan-favorite character when Bobbie tearfully informed Scotty that Noah had dumped her for an old flame Annie Logan. Just who is the third in Noah and Bobbie's off-screen triangle?
Annie, played by Susan Pratt, is Audrey Hardy's niece, an R.N. who made the Port Charles scene in 1978 and quickly became a fixture at the 7th floor nurses station. It was Annie who deduced that orphan Jeremy Hewitt (who she later adopted) was the carrier of the Lassa fever outbreak, which temporarily quarantined the hospital. During her five-year stay, she was paired with hunks Jeff, Joe, and Noah, but despite these romances, Annie left town with her much-discussed virginity still intact!
"I got a call from a girlfriend who told me, 'Susie, you were mentioned on the show today,'" Pratt tells Soaps In Depth. "I watched it on-line and thought it was great! It was exciting to hear 'Annie Logan' talked about on GH after all these years. It was funny to hear Scotty say, 'the virgin?' It was like an inside joke. I think it is just great that GH gives shout-outs to their fans like this. It was an honor to have Annie be referred to, especially on the 51st anniversary show."
Is Pratt, now a realtor in New York, open to reprising Annie if the show were to extend an invitation? "Absolutely," she says. "I still get out on auditions and I'm thinking about taking a trip to L.A. I have some wonderful friends out there including Carmen Thomas (Hillary, ALL MY CHILDREN) and Jamie Lee Curtis. You never know!"
