Who Is Lucas Jones?

He’s finally here! The name Lucas Jones has been bandied about on GENERAL HOSPITAL for months on end. Now that he has made his way to Port Charles, how about a refresher course on the young man, who could, should he choose to, carry on the Jerome family name?

Lucas’ life was complicated because of the criminal underworld, literally, from day one. Cheryl Stansbury learned she was pregnant and everyone assumed the baby daddy was Robert Scorpio, whom she was seeing at the time. The fact of the matter was that the biological father was mobster Julian Jerome.

When the baby was born, granddad Victor sold him on the black market and momma Cheryl was told her baby died at birth. Unable to have children of her own and with a legal adoption having fallen through, Bobbie Jones bought the baby and named him Lucas, after her big brother Luke.

After Lucas was diagnosed with juvenile diabetes, evidence turned up that proved Lucas was Cheryl’s son. Bobbie’s deceit cost her her husband, Tony, and two of her closest friends, Robert and Tiffany (Cheryl’s sister). Lucas was eventually returned to Cheryl. The following year, Cheryl died in a car accident and left Lucas in Bobbie and Tony’s care because she thought her sister Tiffany didn’t want children. But she did. A bitter court battled ensued with both Tiffany and Bobbie vying for custody. Bobbie and Tony won and filed for adoption.

Years later, Helena Cassadine poisoned Lucas to force Tony into “defrosting” her son, Stavros, from his cryogenic freeze. Although Lucas had crushes on Georgie, Maxie and Brook Lynn, he came out to his friends and family. Bobbie’s first reaction was to get him into counseling, but eventually accepted his life choice. After Tony died, Lucas moved to Seattle, where he has been for several years. All this time, he has believed that Julian was dead… as did all of Port Charles!
