Dear Maurice, Maurice, what has been your most difficult scene to date? Lori |
Dear Lori, Toward the end of the breakdown story was probably the most difficult. |
Dear Maurice, How long does it take you to get mentally prepared for an emotional scene? Do you get right into character, or do you need to really prepare yourself mentally?
Brenda Bruno |
Dear Brenda, I get right into it. When I get on the set, it only takes me a second to be in character because I’ve been playing him so long. I’ve come to the conclusion that all that huffing and puffing doesn’t do it. What’s more important in acting is just relaxing. I think you’re more in the moment that way.
|
Dear Maurice, Do you have any advice to someone that wants to pursue acting?
Lydia |
Dear Lydia, Study, study, study. If you want to be the best at what you do, you’ve got to train.
|
Dear Maurice, If one of your children wanted to join the business, would you encourage or discourage acting as a career choice?
Trish |
Dear Trish, I’m not going to encourage or discourage. If they really want to do it, they’re going to do it. I would support them in whatever they wanted. |
Dear Maurice, When and how did you first know that acting was what you wanted to do for a living?
Ashlie |
Dear Ashlie, I didn’t know until I was 21. I had nothing else or nowhere else to go. I started off modeling, and that was horrible and very unsuccessful. Then I got into commercials. Acting seemed like the next step. Once I did my first scene, even though I wasn’t good at all, I knew that I had the passion for it. |
Dear Maurice, Hey Maurice! If you hadn't become an actor, what would you have been?
Megan |
Dear Megan, Maybe a parole officer. [Laughs] |
Dear Maurice, Do you think Sonny will ever be in a happy, healthy relationship? What type of woman do you think it would take for Sonny to be truly happy in a relationship?
Cyndi |
Dear Cyndi, What happens is, like right now, he punishes himself. If he punishes himself for a while, then down the line when the audience gets into what he’s doing, then the audience will want to see him happy. |
Dear Maurice, In your role as Sonny Corinthos, how many days a week do you spend on the set?
Jan P. |
Dear Jan, Three. I get a lot done in three days.
