Skiing, scuba diving and reservations. Anywhere I can do one of those things is my favorite spot. I have traveled a lot and will again. I’m thinking Fiji or New Guinea next. My favorite food to cook would probably be spaghetti when I have friends coming over. It’s easy and everyone likes it. |

I find the half-hour format of the show rather restricting in being able to fully explore the emotional situations and storylines; things seem very rushed at times. What do you think about it? Also, do you think PC will survive this way, or would an hour format help to improve its ratings?

The only thing rushing it is the 13-week format. We have time to do anything we want but this is very story-driven, I know. I think it’s good to keep from repeating ourselves as other shows are wont to do. We could slow down a bit for humanity, though, and I think we are making room for that soon. I don’t think it would serve us to go to an hour. The ratings dilemma is more about affiliates than anything else. |

Are you still performing with your band, The High Lonesome, and do you have a Web site? My nephew has been playing drums lately, and I was wondering if you have any good tips that I can pass on to him.

The High Lonesome no longer plays together. We’ve all gone in separate directions, but we hang out occassionally. As for tips... practice. Put on headphones and play with a record. If he doesn’t want to, then he’ll give it up for something else. |
