Dear Alicia, You bear an uncanny resemblance to your on-screen mother, Erica Kane (Susan Lucci). Is that a natural look or do makeup artists make you look like Erica? Nicole luscombe
Dear Nicole, I think there’s already a similarity, but I think that the way they do my hair and makeup enhances what I already have to make me look even more like her. Also, the camera shoots at a lot of angles, and she and I have similar angles of our face and body. But if you take the two of us without any makeup standing next to each other, there’s really not much [similarity] there. And she is so pretty without makeup. She doesn’t even need it!
Dear Alicia, I miss Sam Page (ex-Trey). I was bummed how they got rid of him. Do you still talk with him, and do you miss him like the rest of us? Lisa Santanello
Dear Lisa, I miss him dearly. Unfortunately, I haven’t spoken to him in a long time. I know he’s out in L.A. doing his thing. I’ve lost touch only because both our lives have been so busy, but I know that if I talked to him, we could pick up where we left off. I’m actually hoping to get in touch with him when things slow down for me a little bit. I do miss him because he was and still is a very dear friend.
Dear Alicia, I think you are fabulous. I am really enjoying your portrayal of Kendall. I would like to know where you see yourself in the next five-to-10 years. What type of roles would you like to play? Would you like to do a Broadway play? Inge
Dear Inge, It’s really hard to say where I’ll be in five-to-10 years. I don’t know what’s going to happen with ALL MY CHILDREN. I love being on the show now, so it really depends on what’s happening with me as a person and Kendall as a character. So who’s to say what’s going to be happening with me on the show? If I ever do decide to move on — which someday I would like to do — I would love to do film, and I always have this vision of doing a really great sitcom or something really fun and energetic because I have so much energy and I want to put it toward a fun character. I’ve also always wanted to do period pieces, like films from the Renaissance period or from a different time. So I really have different kinds of characters that I would love to play, and I’m not going to be picky because there are so many different sides to me. I think whatever comes in my direction is going to be what’s right for that time. In terms of Broadway, I’ve always wanted to do it, because I sang and danced for years, so I think later on down the line, that’s something I would like to do as well. I want to try a little bit of everything because I’ve done film and theater before, and now I’m doing a soap, and I like it all, so it depends on where I am in my life and what would be best for me at that time.
Dear Alicia, I was wondering if you could tell me what brand you use for the Fusion makeup? Jennifer
Dear Jennifer, It’s in these containers and it says Fusion, but I think it’s from some Asian company. I don’t even know the name of it, but [the company] creates the Fusion packaging. I know that the makeup people at AMC use a lot of MAC products on our face, and when we’re putting the Fusion lipstick on our lips [in a scene], that’s also MAC products. But in terms of what is seen packaged on the show, I think it’s an Asian company that has Chinese writing on it that I don’t understand! They rip the [original] label off and put on a Fusion label.
Dear Alicia, What were your favorite classes or activities in high school? Jamie H.
Dear Jamie, Go figure: drama! I was president of the drama club. What does that tell you? Drama, drama, drama! It was my favorite. I was horrible in math. I failed it twice, but I loved drama and also physical education. I always did well with the school records like running or the physical fitness tests because I was always a very energetic, strong little kid. I just loved going to P.E. class and doing physical activity. That was fun for me. And English because I like to write.
Dear Alicia, What perfume do you wear and which brand of makeup? Debbie h
Dear Debbie, I have this really pretty perfume that I got from this little store that creates their own scents, and I wear one that’s called Roshni Sunlight by Francis Jerome. I get so many compliments on it. It’s the most airy, clean, beautiful scent, and I’ve been wearing it for awhile. I kind of go back and forth with the makeup I wear. I use a lot of Yves St. Laurent stuff for my face, but then I’ll go and use [drug]store-brand stuff like Almay for my eyes because they have these really pretty shimmery eye colors, or Maybelline for lipstick because they have this pretty, sheer lip gloss. So for my face, I’ll use the slightly more expensive stuff, but then I’ll use the store-bought products for my eyes and lips because it’s all the same.
